Anybody else see this bike on Conan last night?  I was expecting a moped.  It looks pretty cool.  Claims 60 miles/charge.  Top speed 110mph (probably way exaggerated).  Let's see if I can get this link right ....

You make a bike that'll go 70-80 miles a day on one charge and do it at highway speeds with luggage and a trunk.. comparable in price to a similar gas bike... we'll talk. I don't even care if it looks dumb. Who needs to go 110 mph?

I took a MSF course this summer where one of the "students" was a Swedish gal that rode up on an electric bike.  She and her father built the bike and it looked like any other black sport bike.  She was getting her masters degree in mechanical engineering.  Her fiancee built and raced the fastest electric drag bike which had gone 160 mph in quarter if I remember correctly.  She said that her electric bike went 50 miles on a charge and that she was putting new battery packs in it that would go 75 miles.  I believe that she said that the bike would go about 90 mph.  She gave us a little demo on the course and it was real strange watching a bike that sounded like a golf cart.

That might the future of biking.

That show was on this last Thursday (OCC) on building the bike I don't think I would have them build me a electric bike lots of sparkes flying.
