New style stainless radiator grill

A company that a friend has dealt with in the past (and he highly rates their work) in the UK is now making stainless steel Valkyrie radiator grills.



Laser accuracy, very thick stainless steel (1.5mm – gives a good quality finish) and hand finished to give it a lightly brushed/polished finish.

They are available for £40 from eBay UK if you look for a seller id of cymarceng.

2 things I see here. Polished stainless scratches very easily. I have tried it many times on my rad covers and the shine just does not last like chrome. Chrome is king! Second I have spent a ton of money testing my covers for airflow. While this cover looks very nice I think I would be concerned about getting  the proper amount of air to the radiator so your motor does not overheat. Especially in warmer climates.

2 things I see here. Polished stainless scratches very easily. I have tried it many times on my rad covers and the shine just does not last like chrome. Chrome is king! Second I have spent a ton of money testing my covers for airflow. While this cover looks very nice I think I would be concerned about getting  the proper amount of air to the radiator so your motor does not overheat. Especially in warmer climates.

Big Mike, thanks for the comments, it is something I will keep an eye on when I get back on the road particularly as it does get quite warm over here in the summer. Luckily they are easy to change over if I do have a problem.

Yep, Just seems like a bit too much metal. The thing you will want to listen for is how much more often your fan kicks on. That will be your first indicator, then how long the fan runs. They are easy to change. I would also like to know if it covers the top of the radiator as well, but it does not appear so by the pic.

Big Mike, no it doesn't cover the top of the radiator. I will certainly keep an eye on the temperature when I get finished which probably won't be this side of Christmas.  Mind you I still need to get rid of my Shadow.

My Valk has a total of 14 polished stainless parts that have been on it for years...The shine has never dulled and if anything they scratch equal to or less than chrome....The difference being that when chrome is scratched it's scratched...with the stainless you can remove it and polish the scratches out.
I've got nothin to sell and ain't buyin nothin....Just my opinion.

I have just had an email exchange with the maker of this grill and he can incorporate a top cover in this design. I need to arrange for a UK owner to visit him so that accurate measurements can be taken. It is a bit difficult for me to do this as my Valk is in bits and I am about 1500 miles away from him.
