Left work early yesterday to meet with the lawyer to get a will put together with the wife. After we finished I got on Valk and followed the Mrs. in her car, we were on a 4 lane non-divided road. Heading towards us on the other two lanes was a full dresser HD in the far  lane, infront of him was a mini van at his 10 oclock position in the closest lane to me. She made I right hand turn into a gas station and almost took off his front wheel. He went down, not to hard TG...I stopped and he was on the ground, almost immediately she gets out of her minivan on a cell phone with a camera in her hand snapping pics???

I pulled over and went right to the HD rider, his name was John and just got the bike (new to him 2005).. once we established he was alright to stand, slight cut under his nose...we got his bike up...He was shaken up and pissed....

The female mini van driver then started with blaming him...My wife had automatically called 911 and asked for EMT's and LEO's on site...once the LEO arrived, John and I were talking to the EMT's still making sure he was 100% the LEO pulls up and the minivan drivers starts...he plowed right into the side of my van...I have pictures...I talked to the LEO and told him what I had seen happen and position of the bike and van and IMHO who was at fault....she recieved a ticket for failure to yeild and a couple other things...

Turns out John had Pagans painted on the top of his failring, he and I talked for a while and he mentioned about my club patch...VRCC Red white and blue...he said he liked it and we talked about the valk for a bit turns out he bought rom a former Pagan...not sure if I would have done that....

He thanked me forstopping and I headed home...

You're a good man. I went down that way once myself. The driver was also turning into a gas station from the inside lane. I went over the handlebars, over the trunk lid and landed on my feet. I was not hurt but bike took the brunt of the hit. Makes me angry just thinking about it after 40 years later! Without you stopping there's no telling what the cage driver would have gotten away with. Good man!  cooldude

Cellphone was probably handy, seeing as she didn't have to look for it. Love it, more worried about the blame for the accident than the guy who she damn near killed.

Yup  100 % with you

if i had to forgive the Cell Phones SO be it , what erks me more is I see Tons of Cagers Text Messaging While driving.

What is so important you cant pull over for ?

Sheesh what did these idiots do years ago ?

I was one of the ones that ran out and got the expensive cell phones right after they got rid of that Giant Brick Phone , now im going in reverse I give a rats about a Phone.

Years ago we waited till got home or went to a pay phone if that important.

Now I see everyone and his/her brother on Cell Phones on Break and some during work.

I wish they could stop Cell Phone usage while traveling say over 5mph

I think it can be done
