I've got an HID headlamp and halogen driving lights.

Any recommendations for Daymaker driving lights? So as to throw light down the road out here in the country.

You want a real Daymaker???  If you are serious about not overdriving your headlights, this is the way to go.

I have (1) Krista and (1) Erica on my 2 Valks. The Krista is a 3000 lumen spot, and the Erica is a 6000 lumen floodlight.   This combo gives you about a floodlight of maybe 100x100 sunburn patch in front, and a may 60'x300' length spot down the road.  Unless you are running over 100mph (150 fps) you will not overdrive this pattern. They are also fully dimmable, so driving in daylight they are real efficient conspicuity lights.  Dimmed down, the pattern also looks real close to Police Bike lights; lots of people, and I mean maybe 7 out of 10 will get their butts out of the fast lane and let you go by.

Yes, they are expensive.  But just like a good helmet and riding gear, way cheaper than an accident, a couple square inches of skin graft (about $1500 each square inch these days), or even a single night in the hospital.  Hint: about once a year Clearwater has their "seconds" on sale at about 2/3 price.  Mostly returns that have been repaired.  They still sell them with a new warranty.   cooldude

Here's a pic on the IS - Found this potential retirement home on a trip[ last week...  Roll Eyes
The lights are mounted in the same spot as the original turn signals.

Go over to ADVRider and search for Clearwater LEDs.  In addition to the usual cheapskates bitchen about the cost  tickedoff, lots of really good reviews - especially by Iron Butt guys.

Not a drop of rain at my house all day. I'm just east of Clayton. About 1.3 miles.

I need driving lights.

Got a set of the Sunpie off @m@zon and Josh's bracket.  Whole conversion might have taken an hour.  Couldn't be happier.

"Plug and play"only refers to the wiring harness.  No matter which lights you buy you will need one of Josh Chambers brackets for the headlight.  The 4" running/driving lights need no bracket mods but require stripping  off the plug in order to fit properly (again, no matter who's you purchase)
