2015 Honda Valkyrie bad clutch 750 miles

I have a 2015 Honda Valkyrie purchased February 2018 with 8 miles on it. At the present time it has 750 miles, I went to fill up with fuel today,
After shifting through first second third gear went to four gear started to accelerate and I could tell that my clutch was slipping. I must remind you that I am 65 years old and this bike has never been over 70 miles an hour. I have a 1997 Valkyrie Gl1500c  does anyone know whether there is an adjustment that can be made or should I go back to the dealer for clutch replacement? SOS I need help thanks

Your going to the dealer, no adjustment. That is very strange and the clutch handle feels ok? The pull normal and the tension on the lever normal. If that is ok check to make sure its the OEM levers and that the clutch is releasing all the way.

Did you buy the bike new or used? There is a rod in the clutch housing that may not be releasing all the way or the slave cylinder may not be releasing all the way. The lever should be able to give you some kind of indication if there is a problem. Also what kind of oil is in the engine and was it replaced or is it still the factory oem oil.

So, Budd, the bike was on the showroom floor until you bought it?  Bikes that sit as long as yours did (before you bought it) can have problems because of lack of use.

Consider changing the fluid in the clutch master cylinder.  That's the first thing I'd do.  Then, I'd change the oil, ride the bike a hundred miles or so at highway speeds (allow it to get good and warm in-other-words), and then change the oil again.

Sitting is no good for a scooter.  Especially if it is started and run a short distance (doesn't get up to operating temperature), and then allowed to sit for weeks-to-months with the same oil in it.

Maybe the above will help.  Perhaps it's time to take it back to the dealership for a "look see."

Good luck!

Did you put oil in it that isn't wet clutch approved? I'll bet someone did

I love to go fast, but my wallet doesn't! Maybe I should leave my wallet home!
