Due to intermittent issues with high beam not working, and bike not starting, I''ve had both left and right handlebar switches replaced by Honda dealer under warranty.   Bike's now out of warranty.  After nine months of trouble free starting, intermittent "no-start" issue is back.   Issue is discussed at length on member Kilroy's post in July 2017.   It irritates the heck out of me that I have to pay the dealer to go through the Kill switch to fix.  Taking a long trip soon and want 100% trouble-free starts.   Imagine that.  Rant over.

I never use the kill switch. I use the key.  I have had intermittent issues with the kill switch, so I don't use it.

The kill switch and the light switch are the same construction and if you take a some CRC anti corrosion spray and spray it in the switches operate them a few times it gets rid of the problem. If you replace the switches it will only happen again if you don't lubricate them. You can take off the 2 screws that hold the switches if you think you cannot get the spray in the correct area, since its easy to do.

You also should not have to pay the dealer if the repair was done less than a year ago since most dealer repairs are 12/12 warranty parts and labor.

The design is pretty poor and I have had problems with my high beam switch so a little spray in the switches cures the problem. CRC lasts longer than WD 40 that why I recommend it.

I actually am going to use the kill switch for an extra set of lights.

Don't do that Robert.  If you ever go to sell the bike it may cause problems.

Instead, get one of these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-GL1800-GL1500-VTX1300-VTX1800-Matte-Black-Brake-Side-Switch-Box-52-705MA/311890659348?rt=nc&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D52885%26meid%3Db163cca4315746f88e1d1bb5262d2ec8%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D392058449508%26itm%3D311890659348&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

Good advice but a bit to late  Grin I already did it and it and I have a new switch sitting and waiting if I ever want to switch it back. I have seen those switches and did want to try them but I like the look of the bike as is and I have never used a kill switch, especially since the bike has the tilt switch and kick stand switch.

I tried to start my bike this afternoon and nothing.  No fuel pump and no starter.  I remember that the last time I rode I had the high beam on and I've been using the Ign cut Off on occasion.  When I tried to start it tonight the hi beam would not come on.  I'll try the CRC cleaner.

I used the tip in another post and flipped the switch ON/OFF several times then put it in OFF position, Turn on Ign then turn switch to run and the yellow light came on and fuel pump primed.
