I have new Clearviews on both my Interstates. I got clear, but believe the slight tint one they offer is mostly unnoticeable in daylight and is mainly to cut headlight glare at night. Have no idea if it helps with the gas cap glare in daylight.
I got the 5 inch wider, 2.5" per side because both my OE shields had the OE aftermarket wings on them, and I got std height (15.5", with only a half inch under the chrome bezel to mount) for my Bigboy seat bike, and one inch under stock on my Lowboy seat bike. The wider shields don't look wrong on the bike, mount the same, just are wider on each side.
I don't like looking through my shields (all the time); I get a height that comes between my chin and nose, and just look over the top while sitting comfortably. This way, I can slouch down and get behind them when I need to in rain, dirt, hail, yellow jackets, and mud, but easily see over most of the time.
Remember that many people swapping (OLD) IS shields have had all or some of the four mount anchors in the fairing turning and unremovable, except by yanking them out (and then gluing them back in with epoxy/JB weld). Do not keep turning them or you will auger the holes out to too large a size, just yank them straight out. In anticipation of this, I had ordered four new anchors (for each bike), and the little tiny screws too. Some got used.
