Well if I wanted a V-twin with saddle bags then there are a lot of different manufacturers out there to pick from and there is nothing about this bike that says ... "Pick ME!!!!!" I'm sure that Honda is hoping for customer loyalty but that only goes so far and for me it does not lead me to their latest V-Twin with saddle bags.

Sorry Honda.

Did you see the factory pic of the new Interstate with a girl on back? I don't think I could talk mine into riding on the back of something like that! As far as I'm concerned, the M109 is the best looking V-Twin out there, and if I had to, that's what I'd go to!

AGREE !

With the 1300cc and FI the MPG is enough to get you about as far as a Valkyrie Interstate would on a full tank too.

Looks like a VTX with saddlebags, Im like Flavalk its a far cry from a Valk. If thats the best they can come up with I'll gladly keep my 10 year old six cylinder great riding lady and they can wonder why.

It looks like a Fury with small saddlebags.... and how are they attached I wonder, since there are no rails that I noticed.  Look kinda close to the fender too.

I will keep both my bikes.... not worth trading down for either one of mine.

Hmmm A chopper style bike, after the craze is over, with tiny bags.  BUUUUUZZZZZZZ!!!!!  Wrong guess Honda!!  Would you like to go for Double Jeopardy where the score can really change.  If I was going to go for a 1300 V Twin, I would buy a Star.

Now that i have calmed down enough to type a replie to this post. Can anyone tell me what in the hell is Honda thinking? The design team that came up with that bike needs to be fired.  uglystupid2 I mean there has got to be something wrong someplace. To build a bike that basic and try to pull it off as touring bike. You know they are not hitting on all 6 cylinders. The cycleworld show is in 2 weeks out here. I am so pissed I dont think I can go by the honda display this year. tickedoff

I think we are fossils riding a fossil bike. I do not think they care what we want or did like. Things move on, Honda has moved on and there will be less of us next year, and a few less the year after that.

The Valk was not the first Interstate.  We don't own the name.  There was a Gold Wing Interstate model first.  This "Interstate" however, appears to be a Tourer instead.

For all the "wrong time" comments about the Fury, several dealers I've spoken with say they've sold out as fast as they got them in.  Which is fine with me, 'cause I don't want one either.  Though my dealer does know that, should there ever be another Valkyrie, the first black one in stock is MINE!

That's not an Interstate to me. I see it as a tourer. They should have made a bike with Hard bags, Trunk, Fairing, big passager seat and radio. Honda missed the mark again Sad  I think they were to worried about keeping the price down instead of building a great bike.

Honda is no different than any other business. You have to cater to the market....even if " the market " is screwing up the intelligence curve for every one else.  Honda needs money to continue and the most money comes from the majority of consumers, even if they are ignorant to what a real Interstate could and should be. Hopefully this new Interugly will help The makers of the finest equipment on earth stay around long enough to engineer another masterpiece, and hopefully one worthy of the name.  Undecided

I'd rather have the new Kaw Voyager. At least it looks like a road bike and has a decent 1700 v-twin. I like the 2-tone blue for this year.

My wife has been wanting a fury for an around town bike, and that's what this looks like to me, an around town bike.  It's a pathetic excuse for a tourer.  It's unfortunately combines the overly generic feel of a vtx with a watered down facsimile of the appearance of the fury.  I am not impressed with any of the 3 models mentioned.  If someone wants a chopper, I think they should build one or have it built, otherwise honda is just going to soil the image of choppers with these cheapo cardboard cut-outs.  When it was just the fury I was all about my wife getting one, but after seeing this I think I will begin to tease her about her fascination with the new "Wal-Mart" styling expressed in these bikes.  Time for chopper builders to rethink their usage of the stretch tank I guess.  I do however have compassion for those who bought furys thinking they were getting something relatively innovative or original.

If for some twist of fate I was forced to choose another ride other than a "Real Interstate", I would hop right over to Yamaha and crawl on their Royal Star Venture S.  It is a 4 cylinder, been around for years and mostly a fine ride even if it won't compare to a Valkyrie Interstate in any form of comparison that I can think of...JTL   Cry

Its really no different then the HD market. Same bike with just a few added features and viola, a FXSTHCUGL.  Undecided People buy them. I see them doing this for a couple years and then redisign something else.
