2014 Valkyrie 1800

Seminole, Florida

« on: December 15, 2018, 04:29:40 PM »

Hi guys, I've been through 4 bikes since my Valkyrie and have found the best bike I've ever owned (for me) I recently purchased a 2016 FJR1300 ES with all the bells and whistles and didn't care for it, kept it less than a month. It looked fantastic and no doubt a great well engineered bike, just zero thrill like my ST1300, simply boring. I purchased a Kawasaki Concours 1400 today and already am in love with her. Candy Arabian Red, 6 speed transmission, Tetra-drive, heated grips, ABS, Traction just what I want but not all of the electronic gizmo gadgets I don't need. I am having it re-flashed and paired with Dale Walkers exhaust, Corbin Canyon seat and backrest. This is an amazing comfortable and fast bike quite capable of kicking but even two up. I'm really digging it. The finish on this is near perfection and I'm pleased as I bought it sight unseen and had it delivered. The reason I'm posting you can seeing the pictures is time to break free of the Valkyrie banner and parking sign in my garage, I can finally let go of the Valkyrie, I finally found my next love of motorcycle. I know it's a shallow pool of interest in Sport Tourers and probably none here, but it works for me.

I am selling the Valkyrie Banner and parking sign off, I can deliver to a ride some time on my side of Florida, if there is interest. I want $40 bucks. Try to post pics, I see my old photo bucket doesn't work here anymore.

Doug, that looks and sounds like a great bike.

But I don't care what you ride.

I'm just glad to see you post up here again (and that you're riding something).

Have fun.  Be good.   cooldude

I was at work and had some down time so decided to check this board and so glad I did.
I first looked at the pictures and liked the bike and then noticed the sign and banner and thought to myself to ask you where you got it cause I would like to have one for the man cave, then I read that you were looking to sell them, I could not type fast enough  Grin I am a happy camper and they will go great with my other "fat lady" banner  cooldude

I'll get in touch with you so we can iron out the details, Thanks

Congrats Doug.  When those first came out I thought they would be a big hit and a lot of fun.  Just didn't think they would be a good fit for me.  Glad you are having fun.  I still look back on the things that we did with the Valkyries and Rocket III and smile.  But most of all the good friends that we made and still have through them.

Thanks all cooldude

Terry, you and Iris are the first people I met years ago when stumbling on this great club and have made great friends with wonderful folks. I will always remember your generosity of time and knowledge you shared with me on-line and at your home teaching me my way around the Valkyrie.

Jess, I hope to meet you soon, I plan a trip to Virginia in 2019 will be staying in the outskirts of Salem maybe we can meet up for a ride/eats? (my wife is still caring for your ex's gear)

Grumpy, What can you say just one of the best men of integrity left on this planet. Tons of knowledge and great riding partner. Enjoyed every single ride with you (even the wet ones)

All of the members, the many miles of smiles with full bellies of tasty chow the Florida Valkyrie boys are well known for cooldude

I will keep an eye on the board and hope to see you all down the road.

Given how things have been lately (and this year), you better bring a boat.

Doug

Congrats on the new bike, it's looking good already, even before you work your magic on it, as I know you will!

I've ridden a friends Concours up in the mountains and the BRP and thought this was a perfect bike for the twisties. It is some kind of serious fast!

Miss your presence here on the board and have always thought your old green and black was one of the prettiest Valks ever.!

Keep coming here and posting, you're a charter member and we like hearing about your latest escapades!

Good deals to be had, several local private low miles Connie's. I would go 2012 or up (upgrades) then the difference is colors. I dig this color and it was the only year made, kind of rare which I prefer.
Hope to see you at the "dumpster" soon. I will be riding to have my re-flash of the ECU done hopefully this Saturday, otherwise I will stop there. I truly stole this, when I tell you the story and what I paid you won't believe it.

  • “Good deals to be had” Agreed,  however for those of us who are frequent fliers the DMV sure does catch up with us  Sad
  • Sure Jack, I think a couple of those signs would look good at the cottage for Valk parties.   Just ribbing you.

    • I do believe at this point Doug you can have a very good consumer reports column for this category. I would love to see the wing, let me be specific, the new wing added to the report. I feel the new wing is a lot more sporty and closer to this category.

I would have been happy to trade you my '14 Connie for your FJR.  I hope you enjoy it, it's a beast for sure.
