I apologize  I think your post is admirable and it has got me over the years to think about having it done. I have to admit, I haven't yet at 61. I'm one of those dumbasses that avoid doctors and hospitals unless I'm taken there in handcuffs.

I've read about this over the last few yrs. The Sigmoidoscopy is much safer when it comes to bleeding, bowel perforation, etc. which are know issues with a colonoscopy. They sent my brother to the ER due to excessive bleeding after a colonoscopy.

Most don't know but i had my entire colon removed at 20 yrs old.  That is almost 22 years ago.  Time flys.  We have a generic disease in my family.  They said I wouldn't have made it to 40 if I didn't do something about it.

I have saved my last correspondence with laserpat. It is a PM that I shared with him my story and habe him encouragement only for him to pass the two days later.   I think of him often.
