Massachusetts

With the recent 60 temps and rain, the roads around eastern Massachusetts are in pretty good shape. So I decided to go for the first ride of 2019. The first stop was the dam at Wachusett reservoir in Clinton. With the wind and lots of ice still on the reservoir, it was chilly there.

I had just ridden through some snow melt and that's what the drops of water are under the bike.

From Clinton I picked up 110 east and rode it to Littleton. It's a very pretty ride, especially up through Havard. In Littleton I picked up 2A east and  had chicken pesto pannini at the Blackbird Cafe in a shopping plaza at the corner of 2A and 27 in Acton. It was OK. From there I took a round about way home.

It felt good to get back on the bike. About 88 miles.

 Cool

Good for you Tony, roads are clearing up pretty good around this area, except for the crater size pot holes.
Did you try out the heated seat and grips?

Off course!  Wink  Used them last season, too. I used my Gerbing jacket liner, too. I found with the heated grips that I don't really need the Gerbing gloves as long as temps are above 40. I was actually comfortably warm and had to turn the seat and grips down one setting to three bars out of a total of five. Probably helped that I wore the Aerostich suit, too.

There was a fair amount of snow melt yesterday. I did my best to avoid the big puddles. Nevertheless, the bike needs a wash. That probably won't happen until April. My hoses are still put away.

Looking forward to the next ride, already.  Smiley

No, chasing down the spaghetti wiring left by Anderson Cycles... but I'll do the K&N maintenance while I'm in there...

Nice to hear a couple of you got out to enjoy a ride or a paddle....
Ice banks either on the roadside or river banks have a few more weeks before they disappear....
And the potholes are atrocious this year....and you can not see them when the snow / ice
melts and runs across the road.
Probably the end of April / first of May before I roll my bike out......no different than any
of the past 20 years.

As long as you and Laurel are enjoying life and out in the air, 4 wheels, 2 wheels, it doesn't matter. Being together and make memories is all that counts. The warm weather is coming my friend!   Cool
