Amp draw

Any one know what Amp draw is with key on, not started.
Mine is  8amps with lights and 5.5amps with them disconnected .
Seems to me to be awful high? 98 std. Will run the battery down real quick.

That's a question I don't recall seeing before, amp draw before starting.

Any added accessories?

After taking the headlight 2.5 amps out, what's left?  Meters and taillight pretty much it on a standard/tourer.  No way they pull 5.5

Time for wire chasing.

3.5 tail meter fuse only = 1.75 tail lights + 1.75 front bucket

seems reassemble  balanced, but high all over
used two different meters
Total draw is about 8 amps … key on , not started.

standard  draw should  be . 025  or up  to .050 . accordance  with  my  owners manual

3 - 1157 bulbs on tail @ .59amps lower filament = 1.77 amps + lic. plate =1.8
headlight = 2.23amps + fog lights(2) 1.75 = 4amps
two turn/run front bulbs 1157 = 1.75 amps
gage light + small misc. + ignition = .5amps
This equals 8.2

That's 8.2 amps, so mine showing at  8 amps must be "OK",
even thou every one is telling me that's too high.
