....whatta weekend....didnt get no ridin in...and prolly regret it soon as the snows start flyin....Thanksgiving ?
....but still had a great time....usually a decent amount of snow on the ground by now....hafta put Christmas lights up in the freezing cold and ice n snow....yesterday..woke up to a foggy mornin...low 40,s....but the sun soon burned it off and it was sunny and 50,s rest of the day...soooooo we decided to to.....put up some Christmas lights....opened the container in the garage and Chili had carefully marked all the outside Icicle lights as to where they go on the roof....aint wimmin grand ?....why cant guys ever think of that stuff ? ..
....anyway....couldnt get the roof lights up cuz the neighbors werent home so we could borrow their extension ladder....nerve of them..
...but we did manage to get the Santa on a motorcycle up and the cheesey lil head bobbin deer that are made in China....but they would only half light up.....so Chili went in search of some of the tiniest fuses known to man....which was a bust...so now we have the.....half lit up Merry Christmas Deer...
....but while she was out galavanting she came up with a plan....and a grand plan it was....it entailed hurriedly tossing all the Christmas junk....back in the garage...spiffing up a bit...(mostly her)....climbn in the truck and heading on out for...The Big City...(Traverse City)....and dinner at Red Lobster....(closest you,re going to get to .."real seafood"...up here in the Hinterland)....and I gotta tell ya...that "Ultimate feast"...aint too shabby....we pigged..
...on the way home we stopped and grabbed a nice lil bottle of Turning Leaf Chardonay....and sat back abd drank that for the rest of the evening...
....next morning...some friends of ours from Cheese Land...Wisconsin...Kaz and Marilyn stopped by on their way home from visiting family down state...so I whipped up some cranberry cinnamon pecan waffles and maple sausage...and we all sat back and munched for a while and caught up each others lives....it was foggy as hell today...all the way till noon...so they said their goodbyes and took off for home...
....well...the sun finally burned the dense fog off and Chili and I really wanted to suit up and get in the wind...bad...but you know how it is....Thursday is Thanksgiving...and we needed to go...."Food Shopping"....so against our better judgement...mine anyway...we hopped in the truck instead and headed North to the grocery store...and we bought a BUNCH O stuff....I LOVE Thanksgiving !
...but it was such a nice day...sunny and in the 50 , s that we decised to get some ground chuck and fire up the grille when we got home and Q up some...BABzzzzzz ....and I gotta tell ya....dunno if it was cuz we hadnt Q,ed in a spell...or cuz this ground chuck was so fresh or what...but this was without a doubt...THE Best damn BAB Ive had all friggin summer !.....smoked em in some applewood on the grille ....medium rare ...on the rare side...topped with ..mekted smoked mozzarella cheese...and grilled up some sweet onions and baby portabellos in olive oil and XTRA garlic....with fresh cracked pepper on em...while Chili fried up some...double thick Apple Wood Smoked Bacon....and I threw a couplea Killians in the freezer....burgers were ready...cooked to perfection...and took the Killians out of the freezer...right at that *precise moment*...when just a littleeeee bit of ice beguns to form on the inside...and they were...ICE FRIGGIN COLDDDDD !!! ....and served em up with....this puppy..
.....oooohhhhhhhhh yeeeeeeaaahhhhhhhhhh....
...so like I said...dint git no ridn in...But...we did eat....fine....and actually..enjoyed..puttin the Christmas lights up for a change..
