How many miles are most Valk riders getting before clutch replacement? What type parts do you recommend for replacement (OEM or Aftermarket)? I have 86k on my I/S and think I might have to replace it soon.

Hmmmm... dunno  Got 158000 on the ol gal and she is still gett'n it. Not having any issues..  :cooldude:
On your tombstone there is a dash between the day you were born and the day you die. Make that dash count.

At 60k my dampener plate rivets failed. I ordered new friction plates & spacer plates too not knowing the condition of them prior to opening it up.
Once I was inside I found the friction plates were only about 20-30% worn.
I went ahead and replaced everything anyway, since I was already in there, for a longer service interval.

All said, it's depends how you are with using your clutch. Everyone's clutch wear will be different at various mileage.

i got a 113,000 out of my clutch. and thats with it being a trike and pulling a trailer. my clutch was doing fine with the exception of having alot of starting out clutch shake. i thought maybe the rivits in the dampner plate were failing but that was'nt the case. my friction disks were almost wore into the metal. so unless your clutch is acting very abnormal, i would'nt open it up. BTW..i might add that i'm very hard of my clutch. leaving rubber in every new town i got to is almost a trade mark with me..

Sounds like you may be rough on ties also ;D. I think I'll change the fluids and keep on keeping on. Thanks for the input guys.
