Just snooping around on the internet and discovered that their are 3 drive in movie theaters within a reasonable driving distance of my new to me digs. One is only 37 miles away and the entire trip is only two lane countryside roads to Stanfort ky. I’m going to have to check it out this summer when they have something i really want to see, they are showing Alladin right now. They have been in business since 1952, the year of my birth, which is an accomplishment in itself. This is what got me to reminiscing, My next door neighbors frame off restoration of his 66 Chevelle convertible. He just got it back a few weeks ago and yesterday was the first time I had seen it outside. A great job given the before pictures he showed me! My Chevelle got moved two weeks ago from my old garage to my brother-in-laws garage which is only a few miles being the most expedient way to vacate before my closing deadline. Maybe I’ll get it home with me before the end of the year. I did check out the drive in website and it seems they have an outdoor patio at the concession stand that has me thinking that a bike ride to the drive in would not be out of the question. http://stanforddrivein.com

A beautiful Chevy. Would love one of those. Reference that Drive In and concession stand. They ain't serving "good for the ticker" food ya know. Do it before 1August and I'd ride down there and join in the fun (a hopeful maybe). Rams

If you mean a bike ride down, I'd still have to borrow one. Still waiting on Big BF!

I dunno Patrick, in my experience, when their top comes off, it gets more expensive. (we may be talking about different tops here)

Been going to this drive-in since I was a kid. This season is its 70th.

The Midway Twin is only 6 or 7 miles from our house. It seems to hang on in a tough business. We tend to go 4 or 5 times a season. Guess I've taken it for granted over the years, not many left in the country. When I was a kid, in a 20 mile radius. We had 6 drive-ins to pick from.

The one in my small town of about 10,000 had a great concession stand. The food was good and had to be cheap or I would not have been able to afford it! I really only got about two seasons of use out of it from the time I got my license and the year I left home. Good times for sure.

When the top can go down in a car [ convertible] the purchase price goes up. Since our Valks have no top shouldn't the prices be higher for them. It was just a dumb remark.

Everybody knew exactly what you meant, it’s just more “fun” to move it to a different level.
