First chance to attend church in over a year, then stopped at Bob Evans for some breakfast. I haven't had a good bowl of Georgia Ice Cream(Florida for me) in ages so passed on the home fries and such, just got me a nice bowl of really hot grits to accompany the eggs. When done with the eggs there happened to be plenty of residuals left so I asked for an extra biscuit to clean it up....thinking it wouldn't be socially acceptable to pick up the plate and lick it off. The biscuit was delivered with a smile and no charge and the remaining sauce was properly dispatched. Two more cups of coffee(only regular now), paid my bill and headed for the car which was out of necessity parked about 100 yds. away. The extra exercise gained from the walk caused what some primitive tribes consider a proper note of satisfaction with the meal, thereby gaining enough space to stop for a small ice cream cone.  cooldude

Sounds like a day worth going out for.  Congrats on the decision to enjoy that breakfast and topping it off with the ice cream cone!

Made me hungry too. Too many trips like that and you'll have to start walking to and from the restaurant or buy bigger pants! Or at least I would, I'm walking every evening now as it is. cooldude

John,

Good on ya, dude! Nothing like a big ol' bowl of grits to improve what ails ya!!! Grits have no known adverse effects on prostates, so, by golly, just keep on indulging yourself with a guilt-free conscience... OK, yes, I am a bit jealous, but I don't hold any ill-will towards you for it. I'm in Utah for the next several days, and my prospects are dim indeed... Oh well, please don't let my plight deter you from... you know...

Glad you got out and enjoyed your day. Emotional day seeing those you have not seen for a while. Please take care of yourself and don't be afraid to ask for help, you will have some rough times and some good times ahead.

Dave

PS grits are good for your soul.... so is ice cream    angel

You honestly think I'd do that to a friend?  Grin  Would be an honor indeed but my bike travels for the summer have to be put on hold. My youngest daughter lives in DePere, WI(Green Bay) and wants me to come up for a month and as she put it....."just breathe"....I plan on doing just that. She also insists on flying down and loading up the bike and tow it up there so I can get some riding in. I know why she's doing it that way, she doesn't want me to be riding that far so soon following recent events. When I told her I could drive up myself she kinda left the impression she didn't trust me to drive. Yes mom! I'm planning on heading up mid-July in time to take in the Airventure in Oshkosh starting 7/22-28. Then later a car show of oldies in Symco, WI on 8/9-10 which my granddaughter attends each year. In the past she's done up her hair and dressed like one of the Andrews sisters of the WWII time period, guys love it when she hangs with them for pictures on their cars. Maybe next year I can do a little touring, spread some ashes in favorite vacation spots of ours....come to think about it....that pretty much covers the lower 48 and part of Canada. Guess I'll be gone for a while.  Wink

Iff'n you ever close to northeast Indiana, the door would always be open to you, maybe to indulge in some excellent scotch on the rocks and have talks about just about anything. Maybe even lead you and your steed around following my Miata and exploring the flatlands of Hoosierdom.

Wayne, if I get close enough I plan to do just that. We can pick up where we left off in Michigan, sittin' 'n sippin' on the balcony, solving the problems of the world whilst looking out over the forest below.  cooldude

I won't be up there until near July 20, planning on staying with my daughter until mid August then back home to Florida. Have a few medical issues to address first, been putting stuff off and now needs my attention.
