Sunday, My GF and I along with F6Banger and wife rode some of the roads just south of Taos, we ride these roads quite often (its our backyard). We didn't take any pictures, too busy riding, I think we rode through all four seasons on our little 300 mile ride.
We started out having breakfast at Vic's Daily cafe here in Albuquerque, went to a Mustang Car Show put on by the local Rio Grande Mustang Club, rode through the Jemez Mountains to Los Alamos and on to the Sipapu area. The weather sprinkled on us a little, and the temps dropped down around the 54* mark, elevations from 5500 to 9000 ft.
The Red River Rally was going on this weekend, we usually stay away from that area during the rally, I think there were only a few killed this year  Sad

Inzane is coming up, be prepared for high elevations and fluxuating temperatures, Taos is a very crowded place with small streets, be careful, we will see you there.

SCain,

Nice riding up that way for sure! Chuck used to show me around northern New Mexico quite a bit back when I was staying in Albuquerque. There is a long gorge with red cliff walls all around and a waterfall/cascade nearby somewhere north of Rio Rancho. What I remember most is a restaurant back in there we used to ride too for fabulous burritos! Do you know where that is? Looking forward to seeing y'all when we get to Taos...

Bruce, lots of good riding in our back yard, I think the place with the red cliffs is the Gilman Tunnels or Box Canyon (February 2019 VRCC Calendar), the restaurant was probably Los Ojos in Jemez Springs.
Chuck and I ride up that way every chance we get, we have a really good ride planned for Inzane, but we don't get there till Wednesday, Chuck is in school and I have to work. See you in Taos.

Senor Cain,

Yeah, Jemez Springs rings a bell! It would be nice to swing by there for a nostalgia thing... and, of course, a sensational beef burrito and ice cold lemonade! Green sauce for this tenderfoot, if you please... the red lights me up!!! About how far is that place from GZ in Taos?

Bruce,
Its not all that far, and would be a good ride.  Not sure if time would allow it. Chuck and I have a place picked out for lunch for our ride that serves a pricklypear lemonade that Chuck says is awesome, and some of the best New Mexican food, not Mexican, but New Mexican.

Aah, Jemez Springs and Chama!  Visited both places last summer, both are awesome!   Like Arnold said,  "I'll be back".

Yeah, Chuck educated me on the New Mexican vs. Mexican food thing out there! I like the sound of your idea, so I'll just figure on tagging along with y'all, if that's OK... Pricklypear lemonade, huh... sounds good! Looking forward to it!!!
