I have replace the clutch bushing and switch and still must have the bike in neutral to start. I haven't done any work  that involved the tip over switch. What do I look at next?

Your Side Stand Switch check the out !!! If your Side stand is down and you are in gear it will not start.

Have you recently replaced the grips with aftermarket ones or added grip wraps? Larger grips can prohibit the lever from coming back far enough to activate the lever switch.

It may be the neutral switch or the sidestand switch.
There's a  free downloadable service manual on Dag's Norway site to help with switch locations and testing.

Brian, ditto what robo says.

Mine had GREEN crap on it.

It took a while for us to find it.

But my son Snoop Dog found it.
