Cheryl and I rode down to Chama, NM and wandered around for a few days. Some good riding, no rain after arrival but pretty darned caliente. Was upper 90s when we went into Taos. Anyway we came upon a sign saying Stone Lake 7 miles and I figured what the heck. I like lakes. The seven miles was minefield of potholes, dodging them was a slalom to save my fork seals. I had good luck, but there's always a couple that get ya. After arrival I thought we'd found the stomping grounds for the Blair Witch.

I asked Cheryl to snap a picture of the sign on the way out, hopefully we weren't breaking any rules by snapping pics from a motorcycle, but no ceremonies were taking place so I'm pretty sure no foul. It was pretty cool and unusual.

Thankfully their impact zone was well below the windshield, but they were a thick baked on mess on the engine. A bottle of hydrogen peroxide a day, I say! Nice that it's available just about anywhere, just soak a microfiber dripping wet and let it do it's magic.
