Anita and I went out of town for the weekend and had a grandchild(19y/o) take care of our pets.  We came back last night and she had downloaded "Gamevance ads" which throws pop-ups every few minutes on your browser.  The first one occurred when I came here and I thought for a moment it was something new to help pay for this site.  I sent an e-mail to F6Gal before I realized the problem.  I've got it fixed now.  I guess it is a price we must pay.

It's going to start getting real interesting around here in a few years with ours.
We have 6 grandchildren as of now - ages: 10, 7, 6, 5, 3 and 6 months.
The oldest 4 are girls and I can't wait until they become teenagers.  Cheesy Cheesy
I'm going to sit back and enjoy watching the parents deal with it!  2funny

I fixed that problem by letting the Grandkids only use my old laptop. If they have a lot of crap popping up It doesn't affect me. And I don't care if it's slow, kind of falls under "their problem". After they have to fix it a few times to facebook, they'll quit downloading just any junk that comes along. Grin

Jack, sorry I missed you and Anita when you came through.  I got the funk that Red caught the day before Thanksgiving.  I got up all shakey with fever and coughing my head off.  Got the message from Hard6 on the time.  Got ready to go sit in a hot tub and see if I could get the fever to break and got the message that JP wasn't going to be able to make it either.  I went back to bed and let the fever break there.

Again, sorry bro, but I also didn't want you and Anita to catch it either.

My kids love to play on the 'puter.  My 12 y.o. step-daughter downloads games from all over...I have no idea how she finds them.  But my wall-paper screen is full of icons, and the computer is slow as molasses because it is so junked up.  And we have several CD's with learning games that my 2 and 4 y.o. daughters love to play.  Well, the other day, my wife tells me the keyboard is busted.  It won't type.  So I go restart the computer and log in under my profile and try it out...no problem.  I figure it's fixed...just needed to restart.  Later she tells me it's busted again.  So I go try it out and figure out that it is only under her profile that it is screwed up...mine is fine.  So it's obviously a setting somewhere.  Then I figure out that if you hold the button down for about a second or two, it will type...confirming that the keyboard does work.  But you can imagine how long it would take to type anything that way.  So I'm searching and searching all the keyboard settings and cannot figure this out.  Then my wife said it started when my 2 yo was hitting the shift key and didn't know if that had anything to do with it.  Well, I figured out that she had set the "sticky keys" toggle.  I un-set it and all was good...until the next day when my wife tells me it's busted again.  It was the same thing...why my 2 y.o. likes the shift key best is beyond me. Roll Eyes

Anyways, at least it's better than what their 2 y.o. cousin did to my mother-in-law's laptop.  She figured out that you can pop off the buttons with her fingernail.  Apparently some parts got lost and broken, so now she has no arrow keys...they are re-located to function as 4 of the letters that got lost.  uglystupid2  She was not happy. No problem, Warren.  Anita was home-sick and ready to see our pets.  We headed home shorthly after hearing from JP.
