Hello all
I'm on a Moto camp trip and I bashed the bottom on the big girl snapping the bolt off.  I retrieve the spring and bolt but don't have a hardware store nearby.  I have bungee cords and was able to bungee it up with the cord going to the opposite side underneath and up to the bag mount.  My concern is it is near the exhaust...about three quarters of an inch.  I am worried it will melt the bungee.  Another option has the cord clearing the exhaust but resting directly on the drive shaft.  I know the shaft doesn't get as hot as the exhaust so what option do you think is better?  Or do any of you have another bungee cord fix that sounds safer...thanks, Matt

I had something like that happen to me  12 years ago on the way to the Blue / Gray Ride.

Mad Sixgun had a couple zip ties handy and we put 2 loops around the heel kick  and I used a bungie that I hooked to my Tee-Bag on the passenger seat.   When I parked, I would hook the bungie to the left mirror mount  - the hook on the bungie stayed connected to the kick stand all the time.  I don't know if loading this picture will work or not.

It will get you down the road until you can get a metric bolt and a couple nuts at a hardware store.

try the frame underneath to wrap a bungee cord around that is what mine had when I bought it said he had it on there for the 2 years or so he owned it no problems.  I guess he was not into fixing stuff.....?  ???

I like 98 T's solution  cooldude ... we were worried about
Britman's kickstand on a ride recently and were talking about
bungee cords and the exhaust pipe. Someone mentioned
using a hunk of coat-hanger wire instead of a bungee and not
worrying about it touching the exhaust.

Cut and bend the coat hanger to hook on the stand and be above the pipe.  Hook the bungee cord in a loop and run it up to some where on the bike. Remove when parking.
