Stuff I did to Jade (97 Tour) after learning on Deerslayer. Planned in advance with a relay panel installed under the seat and a PC-8 fuse panel behind the right cover. Has 21 relays now IIRC. Only 11 fit in the panel; the others are behind the right cover, behind the fwd tank gussets, and in the bucket. Also added extra wires run under the tank to support future mods w/o having to pull the tank.

Of course modded with the brazed-in bung to support the belly tank. Cool, it's already the right color for Jade. Now I have just under TEN gallons. Range to the fumes when not towing, about 350 miles.
• Changed the main headlight to an Eagle Lights Infinity Beam "dragon's eye" (not their name) And both upper H4 spots to H4 LED's, installed the universal 3 1/2" LED spots in some shells I had on hand with a couple custom brackets I made. Removed the small LED spots on the crash bars. Now all 5 lights use less power in sum than the one 130/90 halogen headlight on high beam I removed. Plenty of forward visibility for safety, a little less light downrange yet enough for deer safety, and much less load on the alternator which I had to replace after the Roanoke inzane trip 2018:

Hardwired the Samsung X cellphone mount to the Lanzar Crossover since the Bluetooth connection kept dropping. The phone now has a 1Tb micro-SD card inside with (currently) my 9535 mp3 collection so I can listen to all my tunes using whatever player ap (now Musicolet) is current on the phone.
• Bag rails I bought at the Roanoke Inzane. Not made to fit exactly my 97 Tourer with Hitchdoc but with some cutting and welding I made it fit.

Ride is more harsh but I think that's from the fork oil - I suspect draining out 1.5oz or so, and reducing the weight to say 7 wt will fix that. Added all new All Balls seals and other internal parts, with Bel-Ray 10 wt fork oil.
• Polished the forks and spots / marker lights mount hardware to match the VTXtreme triple trees.

Hard to say which of these are the best for me. Of course preventing hydrolock (Dan-Marc & Pingel) is important. The Russell seat for long distance comfort, the highway pegs with fwd controls, cruise control, pullback bars, and heated clothing for comfort long or short; GPS and the phone mount - both provide navigation and weather radar; both powered/recharged by the bike. Belly tank for range especially when pulling trailers. Wouldn't be w/o my tunes; have 3 sources - 2000 mp3's in the Zumo (9535 in the phone), Satellite radio from the same, Pandora and other sources from the phone via the Bluetooth. When we have club rides, are spinning Markarita's on the motel parking lot, have a big mix of music to go with the beverages chips and salsa. I wired the amps so they can run with ignition off, and plug in a charger.
