Throw son in river with Beemer.

And toss him an anvil.

I got a Schwinn (once).

I could barely reach the pedals because, like my pants, I needed to grow into it.

There was no complaining about the Schwinn.  I loved it.

I did complain about the pants.  But it did me no good.  Running around in big fat (rolled up) corduroys and sounding like a motorboat.

Now, late in life, the pants have become too small, not too large.   Grin

Apparently, it never ends.

I ME MYSELF purchased my first vehicle. My Father had purchased a brand new Rambler American-61 model-and I handed the dealer $100.00 cash money and that 54 Ford two door was mine.  cooldude 300 C I straight 6 3 on the tree but Dad had a bunch of spare "stuff" at home that became mine. Too bad the little "entitled" crap weren't strapped in the drivers seat fer a spell.  Evil What ever the bimmer was worth before it went in the drink I'm guessin salvage worth at best NOW! What a huge rhoid! RIDE SAFE.

what would I have done,  not bought a new BMW for anyone even my kids even if I was loaded.

Kids are spoiled rotten nowadays even my own and I blame the wife mostly for that giving into their little wishes, etc.   Wife was not given anything in her life as an only child with her Dad dying when age 5 and her mom working full time raised pretty much by her strict and boring grandparents (old school) and had enough quitting high school age 16 going to preppy private place she hated quitting there and got her GED by passing a test at age 16 giving her a high school diploma early on and working after that full time.  I think my wife does not want our kids what she had giving into them too much.

I was given hammy down clothes ONLY 1 pair of shoes per year with 2-3 blue jeans and a few new shirts per year is all growing up and a used junker car to drive after my brother used it all up when age 18 or so and it got me thru college at least, just barely.   Never had great childhood and definitely not spoiled but I did not ask for much as these kids do nowadays.    When my kid wanted to go to Costa Rica to powerlift he just got back he paid his own way was NOT doing it for him felt would be nice to do, but if he wants to blow 1 grand or more is on his dime NOT mine.  2 years ago I did give in though and bought both my kids a used 4K car about 105K low miles to drive but NO new beamer.

worse thing I did as a kid (well 2 things) was number one say the F word in front of my grandma got my mouth washed out with soap must have never stuck into adulthood since still say it often.  Second thing I did was get upset my mom would not let me ride my bicycle around the block is all shortly before supper time and I rushed out of the house pissed off and slipped my hand off the GLASS screen door handle right thru the GLASS and cut my wrist open VERY severe was about 1 inch deep cut and less than 1 cm away from the main artery going to my right hand filling up a few sink fulls of blood before grandma rushed me to the ER to get stitches.  Dr. said I was very lucky pretty close to loosing entire right hand movement.  Pays not to talk back to mom or grandma..   Grin

My father wasn't afraid to use his hands, feet or belt.  Whatever was best available.  But, most of the time I deserved it. I was a bad kid at times.
