My buddy Jeff called me up to see if I'd ride up to Logan Lake with him last Saturday.
A quick check of the map indicated that logan lake is the lake near Canton that you
cross on 215... "H. Y. I'll go!"...

I went up 28 and 107 to Mountain Rest where Jeff lives and we headed out... here's
Lake Jocassee, or as Joe says, The Christmas Tree lake...

We crossed into North Carolina and headed up 281, T-Bird's favorite road (he said when I first showed
it to him :-) )... and crossed over to 215 on Charley's Creek Road, which connects to 215 near the BRP...
We stopped at the Confederate Memorial Forest on the BRP...

Jeff's motivation for the ride was to checkout a festival field at Lake Logan to see about a
VW Bus event he and his VW bus friends want to hold there... Jeff's friend Mike, one of the Bus
people, met us at Lake Logan on his Interceptor...

While we were at the field, a big storm raged over the BRP but didn't come to where we were. When
we left, 215 was soaked and looked like ice, it didn't seem slippery but the way it looked sure slowed me
down... we stopped for a minute on the BRP again at the Courthouse Valley overlook and Mike headed
back to Sylva where he lives...

So how long before the offendeds cut down Confederate Memorial Forest?  (I don't mean to give them any ideas)

Speaking of T-Bird, anyone know how he's doing?

Nice RR Mike.  Thanks for posting.

Mike,

You don't just tell good stories, you tell stories good! I enjoy your easy way of relating your experiences... Looks like a good ride involving some good folks... something I enjoy myself! Looking forward to your next tale...
