I have ridden once, but my leg won't allow it for a while.  Texas is a bit to far in this weather.  Ride safely!

N TX PGR here.  I've ridden quite a few - including one fred phelps' scum were picketing - and helped organize one for Wanderer's father, a decorated WWII fighter pilot, cowboy, gentleman, and ladies' man.  He was still kicker dancing on his 90th birthday.  We lost him earlier this year.

RJ, you know you don't have to ride.  You can cage it.  We've got several members that do that for medical reasons.

The only one I've been on where the UGs were supposed to show up, they did get a parade permit, was for the services of U.S. Army Special Forces Major Michael Green of Gautier, MS.  There were over 200 motorcycles there in 30 something degree weather.  My first mission. I froze my off.

For me and a lot of the MSPGR guys I know, we consider it an extension of our military service.  The retirees and vets being of service to the current group serving and their families.

Member for about 3 yrs now in AL.  This is from my first HOTH mission to Tutt Fann Veterans home.  Talk about a humbling experience!!

This is a mission for a Veteran with no family. By the time of the funeral, there were 10 car loads of family members from as far away as WV that had been found and contacted thru FaceBook

This is returning from a KIA mission for Sgt Jeffery Hall.

I try to attend any/all I can in the MD, DC, WV, PA, Del, NJ area that aren't too far away.  The Arlington National Cemetery ones are the hard ones since they're only during the week, but they are also the most moving.  Not a vet, but I have the utmost respect for our military, they truely are heroes!!  cooldude cooldude

Just received this from the family of a soldier we honored in the New Orleans area last month:

Dear Members of the Patriot Guard Riders,

There are no words to express how deeply we appreciated your procession in honoring Brian.  We were in awe of it all and I know Brian was looking down at us with a smile on his face in disbelief and honor.

Thank you also for the beautiful plaque which will be handed down to his children one day.

Bless you one and all:

The family of PFC Brian R. Bates, Jr.

Gretna, LA

Marline, Zack, Enjolie, Rylie, and Braiden
