DVD player in the saddle bag?
«

Has anyone ever successfully carried a DVD player in one of the stock tourer bags? I've carried a lot of odd things, and didn't think much about this one this morning. I needed a DVD player at work for the day, we had a spare, it seemed easy enough.
I have an older spare DVD player that was just short enough on edge to stand up in the saddle bag. I didn't want to bungee it to the seat flat because I didn't trust the weather person who told me it wasn't going to rain. I wanted to keep it dry.
This morning when I arrived at work I plugged up the DVD player and prepping my presentation. The DVD tray will stick out and accept the disc (a good working disc) but it doesn't whirrr right when it starts up and then doesn't play. If I had to guess I would say I've knocked something off kilter.
I've never had a DVD player apart before, but I think I know what is in there. I think when I get it home I can pull the lid and jiggle everything back into place. Does that sound right? Essentially a lazer in there is sliding back and forth on a track or a rubber band, so I think my problem is there.
Has anyone ever successfully carried a DVD player in a saddle bag?
I may not try that again.

That is about all that can go wrong with them. I do know from experiece that they either like being verical or horizontal. I have a same one that fits in my saddle bags, cheap...$29 bucks...from wally world...anyway...I took the bad one apart...and got it back to working order...the parts are fragile...keep them in the 90's...
Good luck...
