Go ask Robert Kennedy what a .22 can do ( you can't cause he's dead ) and the 380 is 50 grain or better than the .22. My wife has a Bersa 380 in her purse I bought at a pawn shop for $125.00 used and I sure would'nt want to get hit with it no matter how many coats I had on.

How does she like her Bersa 380? I just got one and I'm still undecided if I'm going to keep it. Aside from having difficulty finding anything more than range ammo for it, I'm still getting used to the grip on the Bersa. I have small hands and that one piece just above the thumb on the bersa grip is really causing me to reconsider.

Would a change of grips work? Or maybe file down the rubber? I'm going on thought here. I don't want to go out and look at mine! Did ya make it to HogRock this fall? We never had the chance to get ahold of ya and go.

Alot have died being shot by a .22. Sometimes they can do more damage also. They go in and not come out. Most of the times they will bounce around in the body and esp in the skull causing more damage. I got some .380 Remington Saber bullets that really blow out a hole. When I shot at a pumpkin a month ago the Sabers exit wound was bigger x4 then the FMJ.

I finally found some 380 ammo Winchester 95 Gr. in the white box we've shot about 4 clips through it ( never failed to fire ) and the gun shoots outstanding. I did'nt notice anything about the grip and she did'nt say anything so I'm thinking its not a issue with her. My wife's Dad owns a pawn shop and has for 30 years or better he's a gun nut with several large safes in his home full of guns so she's been shooting since she was young. A person with a .22 short that can shoot and hit is much more effictive than someone with a $1,200.00 custom 45 that can't hit what they are aiming at.

I'll fully agree the .380 is NOT the optimal defense round (I normally carry a .40 and have a .45 by the bed) but for me, my .380 is for when the situation or clothing won't allow me to carry my .40 for whatever reason, I slip my .380 (Kel-Tec P3AT) into a pocket just to have a small life insurance policy at least...
Yeah, if a serious social situation presented itself, I'd much rather have my XD .40, but I'd rather have the .380 then a cell phone and a pocket knife too... First rule of a gun fight..... Don't bring a knife...

I'm w ya Serk.. for the nay sayers.. ya might wanna check out the FBI specs on ballistics and penetration..then throw heavy clothes and maybe meth into the situation.. yeah a 22 will kill ya but if not critically placed it wont stop the bad guy til he bleeds out.. in that possible fifteen minutes he could release a LOT of negativity.. I'd rather stop him in his tracks.. my choice is also a springfield xd40

Well hopefully my other 14 or 15 rounds will stop him! If not, I got a extra clip!

We talking Bersa Thunder in .380 here? I have small hands and can't figure out what you're referring to on the grips??? If you mean the edge just above the left side checkering just smooth it down. Mine fits just fine. Just picked up a .380 Ruger LCP because it's smaller (i.e. easier to carry concealed). For me it's all about how it feels when I toss off 3-4 shots in a hurry, and nothing else matters except does it feed every time and hit where I want it to hit. I'm not going to be putting thousands of rounds through either .380 like I have/do with my .357 & ,45ACPs, etc. They get a few practice rounds now and then after the initial 30-40 just to stay comfortable with them but that's it. These are belly guns, not exactly made for paper punching 100s of reloads per week. JMHO

True, but a lot of us prefer .380 to nothing. My favorite defense gun is a S&W 4516 but it's a little large to carry invisibly. There are still 2 states that feel NOBODY has a right to carry concealed no matter what, and I live in one of 'em That means if I were to ever carry ('course I don't, 'cause that would be wrong) I'd want something (hypothetically) like my Ruger LCP. .380 and .22LR are about the smallest calibers worth carrying IMHO and the super small .22s seem to have more feeding probs than .380s. The best gun in an emergency is one that's actually available, so a .380 or similar carried at 5 o clock is often a better caliber that a 45ACP back in the truck. (hypothetically) Remington has some nice 102 gr. brass jacketed (instead of copper) loads in .380 that are a good compromise over the FMJs penetration.

Would a change of grips work? Or maybe file down the rubber? I'm going on thought here. I don't want to go out and look at mine! Did ya make it to HogRock this fall? We never had the chance to get ahold of ya and go. Hey Fudgie - I just looked at mine (380 ACP) and my grips are wooden. What I'm talking about the grip feeling a little thick beneath and just above my right thumb (directly across the BERSA logo plate in the wood). I think I'll look at replacement grips. Maybe that will help my aim, I'm still pulling low and to the right. As for HogRock, no I didn't get to go to Rocktoberfest. I as just laid off a couple of weeks ago and my first response was "why didn't you do this in the spring!?!?" I've missed so many rallies and rides this year from working overtime, it just got my panties in a wad to be laid off just as cold weather was setting in. I can't remember if you have my cell number or not, so I'll drop you an email with it. I've seriously been contemplating braving the cold long enough to head south for the winter! LOL

LOL The grips on my Bersa Thunder .380 are black plastic/composite and are quite comfortable for my small hands. They are very narrow. Maybe check around the gun/pawn shops for used Bersas w/black grips to hold & compare. If you like the black ones better I bet the shop would swap ya even up for the more expensive wooden ones.
