Just remember who POTUS is and some of his traits. That's all I'm going to say about it...

I am glad we have a president who is granting these pardons. It is a shame that we are sending our soldiers off to fight these wars, hold them to ridiculous rules of engagement, when we are the only ones playing by rules, then we arrest our soldiers for killing our enemy.
The only rules in war should be to kill them before they kill you, and kill as many as possible until they give up.

Killing prisoners isn't really a ridiculous rule of engagement, now is it ?

phideaux - it's one thing to be killing them out "on the field of battle", and another to be shooting defenseless prisoners.

Tell that to the folks who take prisoners and chop off their heads in public, tape it and show it to the world.
Tell it to the folks who take prisoners, lock them in cages, douse them in gasoline and set them on fire.
Tell that to the folks who take prisoners lock them in cages and throw the cages off the end of a pier.
Tell that to the folks who take prisoners, beat them to death, disembowel them and drag them through the streets.
All because they are the wrong religion. How about the ones who take prisoners because they are gay and toss them off roofs.
Rules of engagement don't work when only one side plays by the rules. To beat savages you need to be more savage than they are.

I look forward to the instant moment someone is physically hurting YOUR family or friends.

Who will you wait for or how long will you wait for "someone" to give you permission to protect them.

Pathetic, sitting there pontificating about an instant you've never experienced.

I have never been in combat.  I served six years in the USN but I was on an FBM (200 feet under water in a 30 foot diameter 300 foot long tube for 60 days at a time).  So, I don't know what combat is like.

I have a friend who was in Viet Nam. It changed him I am sure.

Point of my post is that if you have not served and served in "combat", you have no perceptive from which to make comments.  In other words, your words are just that words.

Me, I firmly believe that our soldiers have been asked to do the impossible.  And they appear to be second guessed by political stooges.  And I believe President Trump understands that and is taking actions make things right.

Get out of these forever wars.  If you want to go to war then war it shall be.  War, annihilation of the enemy so he is no longer a foe.  If you think 18 years (maybe more) in Afghanistan is a good thing, you are wrong.  I could go on but you should have gotten the gist of my post by now.
