Any good ones out there? Any I need to AVOID. Approx cost? Pros Cons? Do you use it or is it a dust collector? Shorter cooking times as claimed on the T V? IF-IF-IF they work as good as advertised I could have some interest. As Always-T I A!  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

My wife loves her air fryer. If you get one make sure it isn't to small.

We've got a Power Air-Fryer XL (Look for a 20% off single item coupon then go get it from Bed Bath and Beyond) and have had it for a few years. Love it, use it several times a week....

Frying times take a little trial and error, takes longer than an oil dryer, shorter than a regular oven.

We use it for frozen fryables (Fries, onion rings, cheese sticks, fish planks, etc. etc. etc. ) and the spousal unit likes to cook chicken breasts in it too.....

This is the one we've got:

We bought the cheapo unit from Walmart, like $29, has a metal basket with a wire shelf.  Works great as was said for things like tater tots etc.  Even bacon and biscuits.  Money well spent.

that is EXACTLY the one we have as well use it all the time works well and not hard to understand how to use it.  We got ours near 1 year ago at Target on sale for around 60 bucks I think and use it weekly so it has not clunked out yet and most stuff takes 15-18 minutes tops unless frozen chicken, etc.   WE even cut up a small pork loin and works great for that as well crispier outside yet moist and tender inside.  I use it mostly for chicken strips and french fries, mozarella sticks, and easy quick meals.

It does reduce cooking time and heats up quickly and does a good job overall.  Only negative thing is the black finish in a few small spots rubbed off cleaning it on the bottom of the black plastic on the inside.    But, for 1 or 2 uses per week the last 50 or so weeks has held up well.

Personally I would get one but NOT too small5- 6qt. or so is about right for 2 people.   I think the bigger units circulate the air movement better if say 1/2 full or so vs. smaller more cramped ones made for only 1 person.

We bought my wife a Ninja for her birthday. It Fries, broils, bakes, crisps, roasts and is a pressure cooker too. We had others and got rid of them.  She uses it for everything. It is fast and the food is delicious. That says a lot for me, because I am old school when it comes to cooking, but this dude can flat cook some fantastic meals.  Expensive, but I think it has been well worth it.  cooldude cooldude

Don't get me wrong Nuwave make some nice good bang for the buck stuff, But their small air fryers in my experience is a swing and a miss.  The only food I cooked in it and comes out real is stuff like chicken wings or chicken legs. The other I played with not so good, also clean up is a pain, not really engineered to be a easy clean up.  I have been looking at their Brovo XL Air Fryer Oven or the Emeril's Power AirFryer 360 oven. Air Fryers a good when the food can breath with even hot air flow.  With regular air fryers you are basically dumping food on top of each other and expect it to be even. The ovens are alittle more, but you can do allot more with them and are much easier to clean.

even with our around 6 qt. somewhat larger one it is a good idea half way thru or so to pull it out and shake up the food even if for 2 people.  that is why another good reason to get a somewhat larger one to not pile the food up on one another inside the basket, allowing more room to shake food around and the air movement to go around the food.  I made mozarella sticks in the bottom enough for 2 people and the 10 or so sticks fit all on the bottom metal basket just fine and done in like 8 minutes tops before cheese started melting/oozing out of the breading.    Egg rolls for 2 people also done in less than 13 minutes and they were frozen just took out of freezer.

french fries and chicken strips are what I use it most for usually weekly or near weekly throw them both on for 15 minutes at 380 degrees enough for 2 people halfway thru pull out and shake around/flip the strips and always turned out well/crispy.

We have one and have had it for a few years. Chicken wings are amazingly good in it! We just did some fries in it tonight.
