And good news for CHiefs fans - not only did we beat the Chargers, but the Miami Dolphins beat the NE Patriots so we get the bye week.

The real surprise was not the Chiefs win.   I think we all expected the Chiefs to be victorious.   Then again, one can never be sure.
Reference the Browns, I don't follow their woes but, they've been down for a long time.   Won't hurt my feelings to see them come alive and do something good for Cleveland.

Ya the chargers winning would have been a surprise but alas the chargers lost 21-31 to the chiefs . . .

I'm wondering if Aaron Rogers' butt is sore from pulling some of those wins out of his keester. The Pack didn't come out to play until the second half of the game, and then was almost to late.

All Right, All Right, All Right!!!!  In case you didn't see in the title, this is a BROWNS, thread.  Not Chiefs, Chargers, Bears, Viking or Packers!!

BROWNS!

Aw, what the hell, I guess it's true, no one cares about the lowly Cleveland Browns and the House of Sorrows known as FirstEnergy Center.

There is always next year...

I know how you feel sir.  Growing up as Boston Red Sox fan, like my father, we waited and waited and waited and waited through the decades for the Sox to field a championship team.  All the while we had to endure the slings and arrows of Yankee (phtuh!) fans when they were winning all those World Series in the 50's, 60's and 70's.  Well, my dad passed away, but I got to celebrate in 2004 in his honor (pointed to the heavens when the final out was called); that is one's reward for patience & fortitude.
Stay focused on them getting back to respectability and that banner will come along.  Never give up on your team.

When was the last time the Browns had a playoff contention possible super bowl caliber team?  Sorry, I do not follow the Browns  much.  I cannot remember ever, agree?

AS far as the Packers getting a bye week,  they have been pulling near most of their wins this season out of their keesters at the very end.  Their record surely is better than what they are in real life that is for sure.    I am pretty sure having the bye week they will come out playing even worse, if that is even possible, than they have all year long and loose the first playoff game, one and done.

The Cowboys should be ashamed of themselves I saw the ending of the game and they were high fiving and congratulating themselves on the sidelines at the end of the game with a big win.  What they have to be proud of?  NOTHING, not even making the playoffs on what should easily be a playoff caliber team.  Am really surprised that the coach not  fired the same day either.

That's the Browns motto, "Maybe next year". We change coaches and quarterbacks as much as some people change underwear. Even tried changing the uniform for luck- didn't help. We made it to the playoffs fairly regular in the 80's (cardiac kids) but always "maybe next year".

Two years in a row they were beaten by the Broncos--once with "The Drive" engineered by John Elway in the final minute or so, and the very next year, Ernst Byner was crossing the goal line with the ball to seal the Brown's victory when it magically became dislodged without even being hit to be forever known as "The Fumble."  At least it's the way I remember.

One other time Browns QB Brian Sipe was intercepted in the final moments when head coach Sam Rutigliano elected to go for it rather than kick a field goal against Oakland, who was in as a wild card.  As I remember, Oakland went on to play Pittsburgh in the game that resulted in the Immaculate Recption involving Terry Bradshaw and Franco Harris.

Ah, those were the days.  Not long after, owner Art Modell stole away to Baltimore in the middle of the night and since then, the Browns have been, well....the Browns.  Romeo Crennel took them to the playoffs in their only appearance since then, where they were defeated by some other team...who cares?

Absolutely - NEVER give up on your team. Except maybe KU Football....

The Carolina Hurricanes, The KC Royals (usually they have been able to put together a World Series capable team every 5-10 years - new owner promises to try to make that more regular) and the Chiefs.

And KU Men's Basketball. Never say die. A successful KU coach will never be without a job.

Thanks for the encouragement O2S and Scooperhead.  Been a fan forever and will couldn't give up if I wanted to.  Moved to Cincinnati 30 years ago and tried to become a Bengal fan, but just can not route for them against the Browns.

My youngest son lives up near Erie PA and has been a lifelong Steelers fan.  When the Steelers were playing Arizona in the superbowl, my wife called him to ask him about something and he said I can't talk to you now, you're in enemy territory.  So anyway, I was asking him one day about the Steelers/Browns rivalry and he told me after all these years, they quit rooting against Cleveland, they just feel bad for them now.

All good points, Cookidough, RP and O2S.

I have heard that you should check your furnace filter when the Browns change coaches.

The only good news for the Browns, is for the fans to petition for a new owner. Haslem is the biggest idiot that owns a pro team!
