With not just our bikes getting older by each year that passes, so are we.  I wanted to start a topic for everyone to share those that left us to soon.  Please add and I'll update this first post.  I and I'm sure many others may not be as active on the board.

Wiggy passed on Pearl Harbor day 2018

I don't remember when BF passed.

Nobody gets out alive, but we can work on making the most of what we have left.

Here's to your dad, Wayne, a/k/a Solo1. He and I had some good times/chats in recent years. I miss that. We were almost exactly 10 yrs. apart, both b'days were in April.

As I recall, that was 15 yr. old scotch.

Excerpt from the Providence Journal, December 31, 2019

My Turn: Frank Robinson-You were somebody once

Editors note: For many years, we have published Frank Robinson’s poignant and thought-provoking poetry near the end of the year. With 2019 drawing to a close, here is his offering for this year, “Senior Moments III,” written from a retirement community:

A notice in our auditorium:
“Dear Alzheimer’s Patients:
Please don’t talk during the concert.
It disturbs the other guests.”

Of course, we love our children —
without them,
we wouldn’t have our grandchildren.

The challenge here,
you’re nobody now,
but you can’t forget
you were somebody once.

Just in Case:
Of course, I’ll go first,
but just in case,
please write a note
to your successor
(not replacement, no, never!),
a brief note explaining me.

MOURNERS FOR HIRE -
YOU DIE, WE CRY
a public service for every occasion,
every gender, every religion,
loud or soft,
and all you can eat at the wake.

Waiting for My Knee Replacement
A few helpful comments:
“It’s very painful — worse than a hip.”
“It’s a big deal.”
“You’re walking so much better now,
you really don’t need an operation.”
And then someone stole my walker —
or rather, walked away with it.
Even my cane clicks
every time I take a step.
Thank God
they operate tomorrow.

The Day After:
People are so nice to me,
I must be very sick.

Here, you’re out of step
if you’re perfectly healthy.
Each of us is known for our illness,
and each day,
we’re either better or worse or the same.

We grow smaller year by year:
They say it’s age,
but maybe, too,
it’s the way that time
keeps lopping off
our jobs, our homes, our friends..

We’re left with who we are,
nothing more, but nothing less.
We have so little time left,
we have all the time in the world.

My wish for everyone here —
a healthy life, an easy death,
and a lot of money left over.

Frank Robinson was the director of the Williams College Museum, the Rhode Island School of Design Museum, and the Herbert F. Johnson Museum, at Cornell University.

Bruce Fogerty “BF”. Battled kidney cancer for years. He had a red and white like mine when we met. You all know what he turned it into. Was one of the special Valkyries of all time. I was honored to rescue it before he passed. It’s hard when one of the good guys goes.

Never met him in person, but Ernie was was one of the first VRCC members I got to know , when I purchased  his Dragon Pack exhaust years ago. Absolutely a top notch guy...he went out of his way making sure I was happy with my purchase.  He was fantastic to deal with over the phone, his product was and still is to this day top quality, and he kept in touch through the shipping process until I received everything (ordered a complete system with another set of headers) and then followed up through the the following year to see how things were going.

Impossible not to miss this guy!!!
Biggie, Big E, Tiny, eric in md or just Eric.
Eric and Shawnee (spelling?) were awesome taking care and making sure I was informed as to what was going on at InZane in Asheville as well as Spearfish. I remember him walking around bumping (literally) into ones he knew ...... or maybe not, chatting it up and laughing LOUDLY!! I was laughing watching him. I looked at Shawnee and she rolled her eyes and said "he's in his element" and shook her head while I continued to laugh.
What an awesome couple and what an awesome guy........"I Love You Man".

We belonged to the same Shriners lodge and I would ride 100 miles just to have breakfast with
The big man.
Minde you he would always give hugs and call me little brother, but most of us were.

Jeff did Bruce pass in 2016 or 17? He did put alot in his bike and it sure made him feel good to know that you bought it knowing how well you would take care of it. I had my eyes on that bike but he didn't want to sell at the time. Loved it smitten
