I have a 1997 GL1500C2 (title says).
The petcock started leaking and I'm confused with partzilla fuel tank diagram.
They list 4 different ones.
Which one do I need want complete valve.
It's leaking where Honda pressed the left side on with little rivots??

The part numbers are updated from time to time.  That part ending in 033 is correct

COVER SET, PETCOCK
16953-MV9-000
by Honda

$40.00

This is what you need to rebuild the OEM petcock .

Takes some mech skill.

Some will suggest swapping it out with a aftermarket Pingle.

I've always used the cover set.

If you going to get a whole new one, any of the ones listed will work.

I believe Honda used the same petcock for all models, all years.

He said it was leaking from the switch side. Not the vacuum side that the cover set fixes

Yeah, Jeff, guess I missed that detail.

So the ball bearing must not be setting correctly?

Rebuilding the switch side is a nightmare.
Theres no easy set available.

Drilling the rivets, finding the right aftermarket o-rings, reassembly with bolts and nuts.

Time for a new petcock. Been there, too.

The parts fish I use, partsfish.com, has those numbers but are crossed through with the 033 number following. That is to show the superseded numbers.

The only thing worse than the OEM petcock is the wrinkle plastic chrome.

I'm 100% happy with my OEM petcock... YMMV  Smiley ...

There's an easy vacuum test on this shoptalk page that I always use to help me
have confidence that I installed my coverset properly...

As I see it, the biggest problem with the OEM unit is the relationship of the "off" function being between the "on" and the "res".

Most all good, thought out, petcocks have the "off" at the end of the movement of the selector.
The OEM unit does not, but rather between both of the "on" functions.
This can really be a problem because you are dependent upon you sensitivity (touch) to know if it is off or not.

So combine this with a stiffly turning selector, and a "let me check that again" personality, can certainly lead to a problem to where you are totally depending upon properly working float bowl valves for your security.
And we all are fully aware of the fallacy of that argument being that there are six float bowl valves we have to depend upon.

That is the total reason that I have spent the money for a high quality fuel stopcock.

Peace of mind is definitely worth the expenditure.

Got stranded three times within two years of buying the bike back in '98 due to the crappy OEM Petcock, the first time was within 10 miles of riding it off the lot...replaced with a basic valve shut off...zero issues.
