I am new to the Valkyrie world as of this spring.  My other bike is a BMW Airhead.  I belong to the Airhead Beemer Club which holds a few regional tech days each riding season.  They are put on a schedule and certain individuals offer up their work areas, garages, driveways, lifts, etc.  We do random projects, have lunch, and maybe a few beers.  Some are just a day, some might even be a weekend.  It is a great way to share knowledge, help others fix issues, or just hang out and share experiences.

Is there anything planned like this for Valkyries? I can't find good and recent information of groups or clubs that may already hold events.

Thanks for any input or even a few that may want to think about getting something organized.

They have good tech sessions at each InZane... this year InZane will
be in Asheville, NC, in June... the tech-board on line here is good too...

Nope, never heard of it.
Valkyries require no maintenance  coolsmiley

Sometimes guys will offer to have tech days at their home, but they are not frequent, feel free to host one!

Bill Ferguson (BigBF) also does a travelling repair shop, he may be on the road now, not sure of his itinerary considering the china cooties pandemic and all...

Haha.  So I can keep those stock valve stems I was going to replace?   Lips Sealed

But if there really are no options like this, I may just start one.  I live in a condo in Chicago, so no space to host one here.   I am a partner in a campground/bar and grille in Hayward, WI.  Might be a good place to host one next season.  Great riding up that way too!

I’m having a wrench party at my house tomorrow. Tank removal, air cleaner change, velocity stack install. Some wiring for spot lights. Probably four Valkyries

Florida is a bit far but if you left now you could make it.  Lol

My Brother-da prez-is near Crystal Lake Il. Quite handy around M/Cs in general and the Valkyrie in particular. He has lifts and a digisync. BUT you really Need to check with him cuz he is a contractor in his spare time. He's on the board once or twice. And welcome to our sand box. RIDE SAFE.

That's a really cool idea. I wouldn't be willing to host one until after the virus settles down but after that I would be willing to share my garage for a day or two. I am in N.E. Ohio. The main rule is NO politics or religion.

The Honda VTX group holds one or two of them a year in Fl. but I've not heard of one being held for the Phat Gurls.

All the tech sessions are usually one on one.  I have room for more. I also have a tool I made to change the valve stems without removing the wheels from the bike. That is if the rear end service is current.  I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree , but I get by.

Well, our wrench party was a total success. We repaired one highway light bar and installed another one. It was an absolute miracle that it all worked out because I am an electronic moron and still was able to get er done. The downside, we didn’t get to ride today. We are riding tomorrow. Yes!

Tech days are more of a regional thing.
We have had numerous wrench parties in my garage over the years.

BigBF is still both recuperating from numerous gettin old stuff and waiting for the virus to abate

When last I spoke to him the next stop was back in Pampa Texas in the panhandle

You can send him a PM (look above- click my messages- new message- bigbf)

When he comes here I have a BIGASS whiteboard so we can write each other as Bill does not hear but he reads lips and of course appreciates the whiteboard.

From my years here I think he and Attic Rat are two of the best Valk mechanics one could ever meet. MANY members are really good at getting the Phat Girl purring like a dragon but those 2 are terrific

But Attic Rat has quite the waiting list also.

Welcome by the way from NY

I was going to make a 2x4 one myself as the PO didn't change them out.  Or if this Covid thing settles, I'll buy you lunch and a beer to swing by and use yours.

Just did my first rear end job this weekend.  Wasn't so bad.  Everything looked brand new too, which I like.  I had 4 different sources of info printed out on the bench to help me with the steps.

Even if not a tech day (Dragging lifts and all my tools up may be a pain in the butt), maybe just a weekend camp out with some small wrenching projects, bbq, and a day ride as a group.  Like a baby Inzane...
I'll look into planning this for summer 2021 !  Love to meet other inmates.

Thanks to all for the input so far!
