The basin where I live is some 80-90 miles north to south and about that much east to west. (about half is in CA but don't let that bother me) This area is many farms/grazing fields, so lots of these types of roads. I tend to ride on those secondary roads or a some call them Farm to Market Roads. Only problem this time of the year is that the owners of the land tend to drive out/in to those lands which leaves some mud on the roads. Good practice in missing clods on the road.

Only draw back on this is not many "Country Store" types of places.
After a bit more warming in the high country, have a bunch of roads in the trees to ride on.
