I see the icon from adding a photo but when I click it I get a place to put a photo but when I copy my photo and go to the place to put it here, I don't get a paste icon.

So what am I doing wrong?

Thanks, CK

I can tell you what Britman told or showed me (would have to find the thread but).....

I use this website.

https://postimages.org

You join and then up load your photos there.  Each time you upload one you get a chance to copy a link.  I use the second one from the bottom or maybe third, will have to look.

Its the "Hotline for Forums".  If you click on the icon to the right of the link, the link is copied into your copy thingy.

Then all you have to do is paste the link here. No URL Stuff required, just copy and paste (Windows I think its CTRL V to paste )

You can't post a picture from your computer to a thread here.

You need to post the picture from some on-line image repository
like postimage.org or something... postimage (and some of the
others) is easy enough to use... give it a whirl...

https://postimages.org/

Create an account using the SIGN UP box top right.

Create a new gallery by clicking on the box towards the top left

Upload photos. Do a max of 4 at a time or it can take too long.

Once uploaded put your cursor on the image you want to put on the VRCC forum

Now move your cursor to the symbol to left of the trash bin symbol
Click on it
Now copy the "Hotlink" for forums.

Now go to the VRCC post you want the photo to appear in and right click and paste.

Once you then post your comment the photo should appear for all to see.

Just as an added comment for the benefit of everyone.

When you add your photos to your photo hosting website, which you then want to post to an online forum or ?, I created a folder named "forum posts", and place the photo here. Then from that folder I select the image, copy the link and post.

This is so I can readily find images I have posted in threads.

Remember what it was like when photobucket started charging, and all their pictures went blank? Almost all the images of posts/how-to and the like where gone. We lost a lot of information. Some are still missing. All those links I saved that should me how-to do modes or repairs, now didn't have those pictures.

The other reason is so you yourself don't erase a picture that has been used in a post.

It was very easy to recover my missing pictures from photobucket, and copy them over to postimage, but I never did find all my posts that had those pictures in them. But when I do, I correct the link for the image, and it's restored.

An alternate to use is Smugmug, I pay $79 a year for the service, and its excellent. Very satisfied with it.
If you use a free service, they can do anything they want, and could easily do a Photobucket ransom thing and effe you over, shut you down.
