I see a lot of white people out there looting and destroying things.  I doubt that they are part of the peaceful protests.  There are always those that will take advantage of situation like the protests to loot and damage things.  They should not take anything away from the quiet protesters, but you guys seem to just lump them in with the protesters.
Us white guys have absolutely no idea how it is to be black.  We have 'white privilege'.  Don't think it exists?  Those white guys that stormed the Michigan state capitol building with rifles to protest having to stay home.  What do you think would have happened if they were black.  They wouldn't have made it down their own street without being shot by police.
Perhaps if the shoe was on the other foot and we were the ones targeted by black police for sitting around doing nothing.  Or, getting stopped by police because you are white and are driving a nice car.  These protesters are legitimately pissed, but you just see a bunch of black people getting upset over nothing.
There is a video yesterday of two cops that approach a black guy saying that they think that he is someone.  They don't ask him for ID.  They arrest him for doing nothing, put him in handcuffs.  He then tells them to look at his ID.  Turns out that he is an FBI agent.  The look on their faces is priceless.  I am sure heads were rolled the next day.

Dude,

I am sorry to inform you, but you haven't the faintest clue.

While I don't intend to excuse the actions of a few cops that shouldn't be cops.

The fact is that to paint all cops with the same brush is no better that to paint all people of color with the same brush.

Just as not all black people are bad, not all cops are bad.

And this is coming from a person who holds a strong distrust of the police.

I worked EMS for 30 years and trust me I have been on the receiving end of racism.

The most stinging moment for me was the time that I was blatantly accused of purposely taking to long (3mins) to respond to the scene of a child struck by a car.

I was directly accused of not responding quick enough and of not caring because the child was black.

I promise you that I got to the scene as quickly as humanly possible (nobody ever drove an ambulance faster than me).

And I promise you that the child received the best possible care that I could provide.

Yet I was accused of not caring because I was white.

I chose to ignore the unfounded accusations and  provide care for an innocent child to the absolute best of my ability.

So ANYONE who believes that Black people aren't capable of racism hasn't got a clue.

Now to the current issue at hand.

First off as a general rule I DO NOT believe that black people are unfairly singled out and targeted by the police.

I've seen the guy that doesn't have a job of any kind  and yet is driving around in a $60K Cadillac Escalade while wearing another $10k of gold jewelry.

It really shouldn't surprise any one that the cops peg him as a drug dealer.

Do some cops have issues?

Certainly they do.

Are they guilty of racial profiling when they elect to stop the guy above?

NO, they are simply drawing logical conclusions.

In the US people have the right to protest ANYTHING that they want to protest.

Their right to protest ends when they choose to become lawless.

NO-ONE has the right to pillage and burn.

Rioting and looting is punishable by being shot on site.

Maybe it is time for the police to begin doling out this punishment.

Rioters and Looter's are not the same as peaceful protesters and they don't deserve the same rights.

I'll go further - I've seen more BLACK RACISTS than I've seen white racists. They are also more likely to have the "entitled" complex. DOn't get me wrong - I've seen and met good people of all races - and I'm equally sure there are bad people of all races as well.

We have 'white privilege'.

I call B U L L S H I T !

If we were face to face I'd ask you to define what White Privilege is.  Too easy to google it and pull up nonsense.  EVERY person that I asked to define it had a lot of trouble doing so, and every example is always easily refuted and turned back on them to prove false because there is no such thing.  Just another racial divider used by small minded racial baiters and racial victimizers.

And that's MY opinion.

Exactly,

People are human first and human beings are flawed.

There are good people and bad people of EVERY race, creed, ethnicity and religion.

It is not the color of a person's skin that makes them good or bad.

It is what is in their heart.

Some people have a light in their heart, others have darkness.

Enough with the negative. It’s a positive thing that President Trump is taking steps to end the violence. As far as racial tension. I’m afraid there will always be some. Can it get better? Sure it can!  It has been getting better for the last 50 years. Contrary to popular beliefs.

Some problems are that too many people on both sides want the results according to their personal opinion. If the world is isn’t like they want it  they’re the victim

Black and brown people have every opportunity to succeed. It’s sad so many have convinced themselves that a better life is impossible so they don’t try. Then some decide that what they deserve is theirs to take.

It’s also sad that some white people think that by lavishing blacks with free money that will right all the wrongs. It just makes a person more dependent when they are conditioned to rely on the government
too much

It comes down to character. Unfortunately the character of mankind will always be evil without Christ. Yell at me if you must but if we put God back in schools and in the homes. The character of Christ instead of the character of mankind will fix this way faster

It’s sad so many have convinced themselves that a better life is impossible .....

But that's just it, they didn't convince themselves.  They are convinced and then reminded daily by the media, and people they vote for who, for 60 years, have done very little except blame another group of people for their struggles in life because of skin color.  THAT they've done a great job of.

Example........  A police officer kills a man has become a white officer kills a black man has become institutional racism in America allows white police officers to hunt down and kill innocent black men.

Like their candidate, who knows what a real black person is by their vote, there are memes all over social media telling ALL black people how they should be feeling about all of this.  Some are calm and  others that incendiary.  Must be confusing for a lot of folks caught in the middle.

Even so, most of the destruction is committed by really stupid white people.  White people tell them to be angry with white people, and then white people burn down their neighborhoods.

It's  F U C K I N G  Insane !

Yes, it’s crazy. No simple answer. But at this point we have to squash the riots and I’m hopeful the Presidents plan will do that. Healing the underlying problem well that’s going to be much harder

It is hard to heal a sore when it is continually being "scratched" by those who do not want it healed.

Sorry, but there are those in power, or with lots of money, that do not want a healing solution.

Without strife and anger, many of these people would be without the power they crave.

I just had to take a CLE (Continuing Legal Education) on diversity

We all do have bias.  Here is an example you walk into a room and only know one of the people is a judge
There are 3 people  a man  a black woman  and a white woman

Most will assume the man is the judge

This does not mean we are all evil or stupid just a conditioned bias, not a prejudice either

Sometimes we must accept and relish being "the token" as it enables us to be the light that
enlightens others into seeing what they would not otherwise see.

I and a few others are the only jews in this club.  I dont let it bother me,  why should it

instead I embrace this club and its members and they get to know me and either like me or not it is ok with me but they will know what I stand for and my word

Too bad that the media does not share this point of view, Too bad that so many will destroy instead of build. Too bad that so many will die because they choose unwisely to commit crimes against innocent people and property and Too bad that so many police will have to be haunted by having to do their jobs
and suffer injury both physical and emotional

I pray every day for this country  More of us need to do that
