Wow, went through the whole gamut of emotions reading that.  Such a tragedy.  Not sure I'd want to see that GoPro video if I were him.  A bygone...

Prayers out for Dan's recovery.

Very sad story.   Undecided reminds me of an accident a couple years back. Myself and a couple buddies were riding out to meet up with some of the AZ VRCC guys. We stopped for gas in Salome, heard a loud noise but didn't think much of it. After a 1/4 mile it was evident what happened. A car had pulled out in front of a rider on a Kawasaki. He evidently got over as far as he could, but clipped the front fender which sent him dead on into the beginning of a guard rail. The bike tore the end of the guard rail off and he plunged into the exposed metal beam. He flew 50 feet down the embankment. He was just coming to as we rode up. His leather coat was cut threw clean and about 30 lbs. of his chest was hanging down by his belt. Luckily the bleeding wasn't too bad, but it was a pretty gruesome sight. My main concern was to get him out of the dirt and up on the pavement. He had no idea what had happened to him, didn't know any of us that we're trying to help him, was scared and in his shock wanted to fight anyone that touched him. To make a long story longer, we finally got an ambulance that took over for us. I often wonder about him, if he made it. Never could find out much, all I knew from him was that he lived in Prescott Valley.

Sorry for the hijack Bill. Brought back some memories. I hope that young man in Worcester is ok. He sounds like someone I'd like know.

close to being much worse that is for sure.  when a split second counts, sure wish we all had that extra split second to avoid an accident and get out of harms way.

One and only accident in a cage I was in a lady ran a red light and going 30 mph or so rammed my dads 86 caprice classic left front fender area right in front of me.  I sure wish I had that 1 split second more and looked left vs. right first me stopped at a stop sign for I would have had time needing 1 second to slam it into reverse and avoid a collision all together probably.  she coming at us from the left darn it looking right first.  I grabbed the gear shift lever but having 1 millisecond to react gave up and held on tight my split second instinct to shift in reverse backing up had NO time.

gotta watch out for everyone especially those older folks had a lady few years ago pull out right in front of me on a side road me coming at her full view she just NEVER saw me.  I could see her face me doing 55 mph at the time and never really looked to see me so I backed it down to 35 mph real quickly on scooter and yes, old lady in a Buick pulled right out in front missing her thank god if doing 55 mph been T-boned for sure and flew over her car over the handlebars am sure of it.  Other time was 1 mile outside of town had an OH crap moment guy coming at me in a vehicle in my lane me coming at the vehicle, he was 4 feet over into my lane not paying attention  he swerved over just in the nick of time while I was riding the right side white line near ditch otherwise I would've been toast for sure 60 vs. 60 mph head on not good.

A few periods and commas plus some capital letters would sure make it easier to read....and understand.

I wish I got to meet this dude before this happened.

I certainly understand his love of his bike.  I think most of us here do.

I posted the GO Fund thing cause his younger brother did an update on his condition on it.

I donated, if you can, cool.
