Lawn Mower Recommendations

A bunch of my neighbors have professional lawn services, and they all come with high-end zero turns (of one kind or another; can't read them even with binoculars).  Of course these are pretty flat suburban yards, not woods.  They all go pretty fast.  I once timed them doing roughly the same corner-lot front yard as mine, and they were done in about 4 minutes (never bagging, just mulching).  And they come like every ten days-two weeks, and mow whether it needs it or not.   With my Honda self propelled walk behind (only mowing when necessary), always going deliberately slow, and dumping my bag when half full multiple times, it takes me about 30-40 minutes.  

But these guys obviously have lots of practice (it shows), and their decks are twice or more my 21 inches.

If I had one of those zero turns, I'd probably put my new truck on the street first so I didn't ram into it by accident.  

Preparing for 24 hrs of rain here.  Just mowed yesterday.   Praying over my sump pump shortly.

After I first pulled it out of its parking place (first time on it), I made my way to a rode behind the garage and practiced going up and down the road for about 15, maybe 20 minutes, slowly, turning around by doing a three point turn instead of doing the one wheel turn.

Got a ways to go, but it will work out I am sure.

Well, I just could not wait, so about 6 PM I went out and mowed the main field.  Did not break anything.  Looks good.

I guess I should post a picture. 

Anyway, the turf tires did have a little trouble in the grass (it was wet from some rain we had earlier in the day) but I did not dig any ruts. 

Then mowed a little around the observatory so walking near it was easier. 

Total time about 45 minutes.

Just hire any of my neighbors all but 2 have riding mowers for their city lot.   

The ONLY 2 that either do not hire someone out to do their city lot or with fancy riders are 2 old people.  One lady is about 78 the other guy is about age 85 but he recently had a farming accident driving a tractor and broke down much to my surprise on a dinky small riding mower one of those cheapo 30 inch cut models which is fine for our yard size.    Both him and his wife use to walk a few years ago miles and miles together in town but lately both in their mid 80's with health issues now have seen just a few times walking down our street some 100 yards and turning around walking very very slow.

We either have the richest or laziest neighbors in town?      My wife and I have 2 cheapo 20-100 dollar push mowers and together we get our city lot 100x110 feet done in 30 minutes vs. if I did it myself close to 1 hour since have a tendency to walk slower as I age use to get it done in 45 minutes by myself.

Before the mower arrived, I was doing some online research into its operation, things to look out for ect.

I found this 2017 YouTube video.  The gentleman does a good job of showing how the mower works. 

Turns out, about half way through the video, you find out that he is missing his right leg. Has mounts for his crutches on the mower.
