My dad did the same thing with the (then new) statin Lipitor.

Except he insisted he get the real dope, and not the placebo.  They resisted at first, but on a take it or leave it basis, they gave him the Lipitor.

Typically, if you are in the control group (placebo) and the trial is successful you will be first in line for the real vaccine.  But you will not know what group you are in till the trial is over.

Part of the rules I agreed to was to not discuss this trial on social media.
It is, what it is.
Should be interesting.   What I will say is, you give up most of your HIPPA rights to the researchers.   All they see is your coded ID number but, I'm sure if they were really interested they could put two and two together.  No private information is supposed to be made public.   We'll see how this works out.  Wink
I've got nothing to hide so, it's not a big deal to me.
