Hello, All! My 99 I/S has a MCCruise installed. It doesn't engage and in speaking with Tony (co-founder of MCCruise), he suggested I clean the solenoids that pull vacuum...so I did. The vacuum solenoid was indeed stuck. Not anymore. The problem still exists where I can't seem to get any response from the 'computer'...the red LED doesn't come on under any circumstances. Does anyone out there happen to have an early 'computer' for a MCCruise system that they're willing to part with? Thanks in advance.

I have two of them that came with a used McCruise I bought. I just bought it for the switch unit, but I ended up using the Rostra switch instead. PM me and I'll hook you up.

This comment won't help your issue, but for others thinking of installing a true cruise control as opposed to a throttle lock.  Potential vacuum issues is why I chose to install a Rostra electronic cruise instead of the McCruise.  Both have the same source, I think.  Vacuum systems use diaphrams and some other analog parts rather than mostly digital parts.  The diaphrams will eventually crack and leak especially in a dry environment like here.  After installing my Rostra some years ago I've had no issues other than I replaced a standard automotive 5-pin relay once.  Here's BobB's writeup followed by my comments on the Rostra install.
