I use all metal polish. Pretty much the same as aluminum polish pretty easy if done while warm. It’s easier to learn how to keep yer feet off the pipes

I believe it’s when I put the kick stand down my heel is touching it’s only on the left side...

You, along with probably every rider on this board has done it. You will find away to train yourself not to. I keep my pillion foot boards folded down on my Interstate to keep me from doing it. On my Standard with OEM pegs I have to be more mindful. A real fine steel wool used easily works well also.

Try using the toe of your boot to put stand down also.

And sometimes the kickstand assist lever gets a little bent, making finding it with your foot more difficult.

Take a pipe or PVC tube or something and stick it over the assist lever and bend it where it is easier to reach.

EDIT:  But not so it drags in hard left turns.

Use oven cleaner on your pipes to clean off boot marks.
