I don't think anyone of us who has posted in this thread has organized anything, but
numerous ones of us would probably go...

Hoping we can make it.  Usually has good weather and not too hot.  Centrally located between some great roads.  (For Virginia).

Barry, I think it'll be a gathering at Sparta for the weekend. Not really an organized ride.  Everyone on their own on Saturday. Dates are Sept 4-6.  If anyone knows anything more about this let us know.  I made reservations yesterday.

I shouldn't have shot off my mouth in this thread, I think I'll
be taking care of my wife post-cataract surgery for a couple
of weeks right through that time period...

Her mom just got the same treatment... not only did they
attend to the cataracts, but the put in new lenses or something
and her 80+ yo mom no longer needs glasses. My wife, a life
long glasses wearer, wants some of that!

Michael, the care following that surgery is about 24 hours, 48 at the most.  She's going to love the difference.

Agreed, had mine changed out a month or so ago.   But, cataract surgery does not mean she'll never need glasses.   Although my vision is now 20/20, I still need magnifiers to do close up reading.   My wife had/has the same situation.

She will not regret it.   This assumes nothing goes wrong and that is always a possibility (though minimal).

Do not skip any of the eye drop regimen.

Do wear an eye guard the first night so no inadvertent eye rubbing is done.

Don't say wheeeeeeee as the nurse wheels you around the 90 degree corridor corners on the way to the procedure.

During the procedure don't ask the Dr. if he ever saw Clockwork Orange and did he remember the scene where Alex has his eyes forcibly held open, The Dr. will tell you to shut up.
