Serious question and I'm not arguing with anyone as I don't really have an opinion on the matter myself, I'm genuinely curious: ...
What's interesting, Person from another World, is that you went out of your way to say you're not arguing and have no opinion but then you've argued with every response. ???
I'm sorry you feel that way. I wasn't intending to argue but what I'm trying to understand here is that we all had sex ed in school so why is this suddenly so upsetting? I have no children and I'm not a teacher so I genuinely don't have an opinion. I just don't understand, since sex-ed has been around for a long time, what the sudden outrage is.
I wouldn’t consider it “outrage” as to serious concerns. To put it bluntly, I would think most concerned people would have issues that the back side of 13 year old children shouldn’t be played around with, even by other 13 year olds.
Regular sex is a life changing event in and of itself which has its own learning curve and repercussions. Fooling around with backdoor can lead to major health issues in areas which are still developing as well as “cross contamination” in other ways.
These are decisions for mature people to decide and instructing adolescents in areas of sex that are rather unique and outside the normal use is not an ideal situation.
Showing a child how to light a match is a good idea but trusting that child not to burn the house down or start a forest fire is another.
