Update on carburators

So I finally got it all done and fired it up. Seems to be running well, on idle at least. No back popping sound. Exhaust sounds different, like that throaty harley sound diminished a little. Throttle feels different, seems like its not struggling anymore. I havent actually taken it out for a ride yet and will probably do that this evening. So far sounds and feels like a different motorcycle.
I replaced the jets with 38s and 105s. Put the high flow air filter without the pre filter, synced the carbs, replaced the float valves with the springier k&l float valves.
So far, it seems like I've finally caught up with that ghost. I'll know for sure this evening when I take it out for a ride. Thank you again for helping me out throughout this ordeal lol
Putting the carbs back was pretty tricky and took me awhile. I ended up having to suspend them with my truck ties to make it a little easier. Anybody have any tips or tricks on making that job easier?

I use a cotter pin puller and a long right angled seal pick to help get the rubber rings opened up and properly seated on both the intake tubes and the airbox. Hope you found your problems.

I almost always use Castrol red rubber grease, it helps to fitting the parts together
