I'm Bill Campbell from Oxford, PA. I'm now the proud owner of a well-kept 1998 Valkyrie Tourer, Black/Pearl Jade Green. I also own a '05 VTX-1800F and an '18 Goldwing Tourer DCT/Airbag. Thanks for hosting this forum, I've already picked up some good information.

Welcome to the world of Valkyries. The difference between the valkyrie and your other bikes is you need to do maintenance work yourself. Not only does the dealer not know the valkyrie they usually cannot be trusted if they are even willing to work on them anymore. Especially the rear end which by the way it’s time to tear it down and make sure it’s right as soon as you get one of these. Drive splines and drive shaft. Or it can get expensive to ignore it if it’s not right.

Welcome Bill.   Smiley

I bought my first Valk in Reading, an hour north of you.  Back in '05.

I saw you posted over on VRF on Delphi, and took the liberty of posting your pic here for you (you have to use a web hosting site to post your own pics here)

I used to be the VRF Delphi forum moderator, but when that forum went down to 3-5 guys and 5 posts a year, I stopped.  You'll do better seeking information and advice here than over there.

PS:  This intro post should have been in the General section, not the Technical section.  Our moderator may move it over there.  No worries.

"you need to do maintenance work yourself."

No problem, I do that already for my other bikes.
