After a test fit and hours of polishing the radiator covers my Pops made are complete, and installed. My Pops knocked it out of park with these!

Looks great! Reminds me of the Cobra ball milled parts from back in the day.  cooldude

Shiny beauties!  Enough to reflect that Cheshire Cat grin like a mirror.  Great craftsmanship and artistry.   cooldude

Very cool. Beautiful work. Your Dad could make a fortune if he had a pile of those. Just sayin

DarkSideR, those are a work of art!

I'm curious, how does one make something like that? I'm always interested in the process especially the end caps.

^^^^^

Appears to be done on a vertical milling machine manual and/or CNC. Fortunately aluminium is easier to polish than SS and regular steel that gets chrome plated. Congrats to Pops! as there isn't many of us left to teach the younger ones. My next employment adventure might be a "teachin' " a younger crew. Still pondering until after the holidays.

I explained on the VRCC UK page that I was going to learn my Dad's trade, and knowledge but an unfortunate turn of events has now made that impossible.

Please do pass down to the young'ins your knowledge. That would be admirable.

Thanks DarkSider and h13man, I thought that was the way, it's just mind boggling how many calculations go into a seemingly small project like this.

Are the end caps milled from a solid aluminum billet, I guess they must be.. but damn!
