Ok after the third long ride on the new tires I’m truly used to them now. Avon Cobra Chrome front and rear. 40psi front and 44 rear. Wow!!  Seriously rides like a new bike. Still super clean after a monster detail session. Wax and wheel polish. Last night I mounted the new Kuryakyn rack pack. So she looks as good as she rides!  Did a breakfast ride and some winding through the Black Water Forrest. Perfect day to ride. Even needed a jacket at the start.

Very nice indeed! Does the rack pack lock on there.. and is it removable?

Great to hear your report on the Chromes, as I will be re-shoeing my IS with the same this Winter cooldude No better feeling than having a new front and rear at the same time.

That is one BRIGHT F6B

Bret,  The rack pack has two straps with quick release buckles and Velcro straps underneath. Two minutes tops to remove or install but it’s not real obvious that it’s easy to remove. My last one attached the same way. No one ever messed with it even in Daytona.

I suppose if you had to leave the bike out at the hotel and you were worried about valuables or your CC. You just remove it and carry it in. It has a carry handle for that very purpose

I see.. thanks Chris, my trunk lock is ornamental at best, so not much security there, I've been thinking of changing the lock, the hook is cheap pot metal and it could be popped with a screwdriver easily.. just have to figure out what won't look like sh*t.

I like the look of your setup  cooldude

200 miles today. Beautiful after it warmed up. Went over a thousand miles on the Avon Chromes and the mold line on the front tire is still faintly visible. I think I’m going to get a whole bunch of miles on these. And the ride. Oh my gosh....you just don’t want to stop

They'll slowly get worse for the first 10,000 miles and then just be awful for the
next 10,000...  Wink

Thanks Mike. I know you’re kidding because you boys never get 20,000 miles up there on your mountain roads   coolsmiley

So Chris, what brand are your saddlebags and are they available w/o studding? They look of very good quality to me. Also how are the armrest doing as far as quality and removal?

As for tires, hell all new tires feel good except for maybe Dunflops. I'm running beads in both ends now and it truly rides extremely well. No more weighted balancing for me. Almost thinking about doing the 4 wheel vehicles to. Was disappointed in the rear Cobra as it only lasted a little over 10,000 @ 42  psi. but the front Cobra is at 16,000 40 psi. with .095 tread left using beads.

The Bags are Mustang and yes they are available without studs.  I didnt know they were available without them and probably would have ordered without but now I like it studded and glad I didnt know.

Im sure Ill get over 20,000 miles on the cobra chromes.  Best tires so far for me anyways YMMV

The armrests are holding up great.  I almost never remove them because they are handy to lock in a box on the passenger seat or to hang my helmet on.
