anyone ever order vehicle tires on Simpletire.com? They have some pretty good deals on my SUV 18 inch size one is a MAXXIS BRAVO for 126 each 700AA, 60K warranty, with 10/32" tread, the other is a Yokohoma Geolander GO55 for 138 each 760AA, 65K warranty 11/32 tread. PLus, I signed up for UP TO 20% off if received TEXT messages but when I went to apply the code was only around 6-7 percent more off that price. Both tires full msrp are over 200 each
The one only time used Yokohama Geolander (different model) was in another SUV some 10 years or so ago but they only last 30K miles. Never heard of MAXXIS BRAVO tires, have any of you??? Both of these tires are around 40% off full msrp and both got good reviews overall, just skeptical on longevity and quality with either tire especially MAXXIS BRAVO tires never heard of MAXXIS. Or, I could get OEM again had good luck being KUMHO Crugen tires 60K warranty 132 each and actually has lasted 60K miles but suck in winter too hard of compound thus snow tires on daughters SUV as well.
I need to also get some cheap tires for my kids old Vibe before winter is over. I put the snow tires on today vs. summer tires being the cheapo Fuzion Touring A/T tires in 16 inch size 4 years ago and I wondered why the tire looked low in left front, only had 20 psi and nail in it only about 1.25 inches away from sidewall not so sure a plug/patch almost near 1 inch away from the sidewall is do-able, considering is really only an 80 dollar tire to begin with, tread on all 4 tires will last another 10K miles or so or another summer next year at least. MAXXIS BRAVO in that 16 inch size is also around same 75 bucks each on sale and longer 700AA 60K miles tire vs. Fuzion tires 500AA and tops 50K miles, if that.
One thing I constantly nag both my kids in college 3 hours away north is to check the darn tire pressure every 3-4 weeks but they NEVER do. PSI today in vibe summer tires was 28-30 psi (one with nail in it leaking air was only 20 psi) while SUV daughter has was 30-31 psi is all and I like to run both at 36 psi since the edges always wear down first if run say 30 psi or so. All 8 tires the treadwear on both outside edges was way down near wear bars vs. middle had half tread left meaning underinflated tires.
AS temps drop into the 20's now at night, CHECK the darn tire pressure more often. My wife's SUV had 36 psi in all 4 tires this summer and her newer SUV has the tire pressure system in dash which is accurate compared to my psi gauge, she checked drove it today was only 32 psi from sitting out in the cold past few weeks.

Ordered my last bike tire from Simple Tire. Got lured in by that promised 20% discount. Found out you have to read the fine print. That’s only on select tires. They got me, won’t happen again.

Had no problem with the online vendor (sorry CRS) but the local "preferred installer" was Firestone. 3 hrs. later and all was good until 10 mi. away and I heard some unusual noise. Pulled over to find the rear tires were about to come off. Politely called them to inform them of their inability to tighten/torque the lug nuts, "Sorry but we will change your oil for free when you need it done." I bet you can't guess what the answer was to that response. As for a the tires, they're Nexen all seasons on a 10' GMC Sierra CC. Quite impressed with winter traction compared to the stock Firestone which were good tires but out of date and still had good tread @ 75,000 mi. on them. As far as good cheaper tires, Douglas have worked well on passenger cars over the years but on my personal passenger cars, BF Goodrich TA's. BTW you can order most tire brands from Sam's you so desire.

Has anyone ever used a mobile tire installer? I rode to a race track to watch a club racing event. There was a truck from a company called On Site Tires. It had all the mounting and balancing equipment inside. You order the tires from their website and they come to your house and install them. The prices seemed reasonable and I may give them a try. Sitting in a tire shop for an hour or more is never much fun.

yah, if lucky 1 hour. I paid for new snow tires 5 years ago and with that mounting/balancing, they gave me free tire rotation for life meaning they said I could take my steel rims with snow tires and they'd swap to my OEM rims having all season tires on them 2x's per year. Well, I had an appt. and they were busy, so I waited and waited for 1.5 hours for a 30 minute job. If I had all 4 wheels up in the air all at once on a lift, I bet I could do it in 20 minutes total time. NO thanks, tire shop not doing that again saw them had on lift but thru the glass they never touched my vehicle for over 20 minutes or more. It takes me 2 hours to do it myself jacking up each tire side by myself and by time figure in driving time, was over 3 hours total at tire shop.

So, anyone ever heard of or used MAXXIS BRAVO tires? they got good reviews overall on their website and are discounted heavily off full msrp of over 200 each down to 126 each or so. I wonder why they are discounted down so heavily though? Got a call into simpletire today to see if they can get that 6% savings up to over 10% since as said, fine print is on SELECT tires for 20% maybe they can give me the ones in my size at 20% off?? I added another MAXXIS BRAVO set of 4 for my kids old Vibe since 75 bucks each and that 6% off went to 7% off when putting them both into my shopping cart.

I was in the tire business for 18 years. We took care of "OUR" customers and had a great following. Our policy was that if you brought in tires not bought from us we would mount and balance them at 2 times what we charged for tires bought from us. And same for warranty, we would honor it but you had to make an appt. We were not going to sacrifice service to these folks at the expense of our own customers. I sold out 20 years ago and they are still there and do a great business. We also price matched.

I did buy the snow tires from them and paid them to mount/balance. I had them on steel rims for winter and see no issues with them taking them off and on 2x's yearly with my oem nicer aluminum rims with passenger tires on them would be like a tire rotation basically which was included in the price already buying the rims/tires/mount/balancing from the tire shop. I personally do not see why the upcharge though on double the mounting/balancing of tires especially cycle tires at stealerships if not bought the tire from them. I would not ask them to honor any warranty on the tires anyways would do that myself with the mfg. in case of a defect. Same way for repair shops doing like strut replacement they feel they have to upcharge on the labor to make up for the upcharge they would have done on the struts if they got them for me at a higher price. If strut fails I would go back to the mfg. NOT the installer so why the big upcharge? Labor is labor right?

They make money on labor and parts. And not everyone is you. How would you like it if you were on the other side of the counter. Put yourself in their place. If your survival depended on profit and that profit was cut by people bringing in parts bought elsewhere for you to install and unlike you. many expect you to warranty them, what would you do?
