The inside of the OE pods are marked/scored for round holes (to be cut out) for the OE light rubber gaskets.
Now if the pods could be cut wider and rectangular, it might work. Measure twice cut once, those pods get expensive to replace.
And I bet the internal mounts are different too and that's also likely a problem.
Right Jess, that's why I was hoping one of our rich retired atty's would like to spend that kind of $$ as an experiment. That's so the rest of us could benefit.

Well, I am retired, but I'm far from rich.
I really like the pod lights, but rather than hunt them up and pay a crazy premium, I spent all my money on simple quality bolt on lights.
So my pods remain virgin on both interstates. As far as I know anyway.
