Sure.  I'm positive someone will say it's not proof, that it's taken out of context, doctored, deep faked and a Q anon conspiracy video.  And Biden was played by an exact look alike who has neo nazi tendencies and eats puppies and kittens.

This is everyone's worry.

But I can't imagine what moral principles he might have to resign over.

The tragic humor here is that everyone remembers hearing it said that Joe Biden was Obama's safety net.  No one (on either side) wanted Biden for president, so Barack was safe for eight years.

Now, if Biden gets in, everyone will be pulling for him to hang in there, because Harris is far worse than he ever was.

The good deals just keep on coming.

That's a clear indicator of his integrity (to an oath of office, or anything else).

But I have yet to see any evidence of moral issues in either of them.

I think Biden would love to resign just to be able to say he was POTUS without having to take any responsibility or work.

Actually that clip shows Biden saying he said that to Obama.  That would be when he was vice president.

It's not proof.  It's not just taken out of context; it's misapplied.  It's not basically fake but it's fake to the title applied to the video.

I started to transcribe the entire video but, after a few moments I figured, the way Biden was talking it would be hard to make any affirmation as to what he was talking about.

But, assuming you are correct in your anayslys Willow, was he saying that he expects Harris to do the same as he said he would do if he and Barrack could not agree???

I kind of doubt Harris will get a disease and then resign.

It wasn't analysis but simply observation.  The video just doesn't say what they titled it as.

He was apparently expressing his view of the responsibility of the voice president to his president.  I think he was trying to say that would be the relationship of Harris to him but he didn't give a clear of what he meant.  Based upon the expression on Kamala's face I don't think that was what she understood.

Perhaps he was simply saying there was no way he and Harris would disagree on and significant moral issue.

I don't hear it that way.  I took it as he was saying, as he said with president Obama, that if he disagrees with Ms. Harris he will step down.  I listened 3 times and just see it as saying what exactly what I posted.

I read a transcript of the exchange, and you are likely right.  But, it's certainly an odd way of saying it, on Bidens part.

I agree with this statement, he is talking about the continuity of his own actions, otherwise why bring it up? As it was with Obama it will be with him as president and Kamala.

Especially since he was talking about the input she will have over the presidency. Its almost as if, he considers himself not an essential part of the office.

How can the intent be truly established though with Biden's mental condition?

Like how do we interpret the statement, that he has formed the largest voter fraud organization in history?

or

Bragging that he got a another countries prosecutor fired in front of cameras and bragged that it was a good thing?

How are we supposed to know or have confidence in what he says, or his intent or what his actions mean?

It is a shame his wife was not there to interpret for us like at other times.

Corporate negotiators are sharp as tacks and are not ambiguous when it comes to important issues, the same with lawyers, so what about other countries? What about the thought process and strategies to keep a business safe, if someone cannot be clear enough to relay intent now, how does that happen in any negotiation or just making oneself clear and open in presenting their own ideas?

Ambiguity can be a planned strategy or can show a failed thought process on an issue, or someone trapped in their own body not able to say what they are thinking, which is true in these statements? I am glad for those that have the confidence in someone to attribute positive qualities to Biden for his statements, but I cannot be so confident.

I am confident in Trumps handling of the nuclear football along with the fate of a nation, I have not been as confident in the past and whenever Trump leaves office I dont see anyone I would feel as confident in taking his place.

Why do we have to say, "I think", in regards to his statement, why as the American people do we have to guess?

I develop confidence in someone who is a straight shooter in words and actions, this like many of his statements is woefully lacking.

Maybe this is why Hunter Biden is so critical and put in a position he may not want to be in.

I am personally bothered by people on both sides who let their hatred drive their logic.  That is to say that when a person they hate says something that can be interpreted as supporting their pre-conceived belief they climb all over it without applying real thinking to the context and intended meaning.

We have to say "I think" because communication in the English language is not an exact science.  There is both a sender and receiver both of which are subject to multiple meanings and poorly expressed messages.

I don't personally like Joe Biden but he was talking (truth or not) of how little disagreement he and Kamala Harris experience.  He related it to how he operated as Barrack Obama's vice president.  One has to really get involved with serious twisting to think he said he would as president resign if he and his vice president disagreed.

Hate, if you refer to me hating Biden or being pre conceived, neither is true, and would be a rush to judgement. I could dislike strongly someone who is the Planner and initiator of the  destruction of someone or a country. He is neither, he is not strong enough nor in his right mind. He to me is like a spot of dirt on the floor, do I hate that spot, of course not, do I want it removed, of course, but I will try not to do the same things that led up to that spot. This simile is not to disrespect the office or the man its only an example.

He has said his own direction, his own policies and with his past record with Hunter I dont need to assume anything.

You or I should not have to think or interpret what he was saying we should not even be having a discussion on this, since we do, it shows a failure to relate his own ideas and meanings.

You have no better idea than me or anyone else at what was truly said by this man, and the lack of clarity on his part is sad because he may have done the same thing to world leaders.

Each of us is left up to our own interpretation given the lack of clarity, you decided one way I decided another, we would have a hell of time being on the supreme court.

I don't think it is seriously twisted to consider him stepping down. Given his mental abilities, his physical abilities and challenges of president and talk of him stepping down by close associates is something that I think you would have to be foolish to NOT consider the option.

Willow, though you and I fundamentally disagree on much, I found your statements well reasoned. Ones ability to apply critical thinking skills to how certain media outlets choose to present issues, I believe, is the last bastion of hope to clear the fog of misinformation.

I saw Mr Biden make that statement. I don’t know what he really meant to convey. What I believe by the combination of many statements the man has made is that he’s cognitively impaired and not qualified for that reason to be the President of the United States. JMO

I don't want him to be president but where in the Constitution did you find that qualification restriction?

There's an old saying that actions speak louder than words.  In our current environment I would include typed public sentences as actions.

I used the common quote although "more loudly" would have been correct just as my instead of me in your statement would have been grammatically correct.

Quote
You have no better idea than me or anyone else at what was truly said by this man

I took some offense at that ridiculous statement.  I listened to the audio on the CNN video clip.  I'm quite certain I do know what was truly said and apparently better than do you.

I'm glad you are certain of what was said, I also am sure and confident of what was said. Shame you took it personal.

Are you more qualified than anyone else to read the thoughts and intent of someone with dementia? Do you have a personal relationship with Biden, so as to know the thought he was trying to speak?

Words can be taken more than one way, so words do not always relay correct intent or the words may be chosen wrongly. Due in some part pertaining to the perception of the person hearing or reading.

I love you Willow,

Does that mean we have a very personal and intimate relationship if I say that?

Since in the current environment you consider typed public words as actions.

As an example of the words of the phrase may not express the intent here is one out of the bible.

Psa 37:4  Take delight in the LORD, and He will give you your heart's desires.

God gives you the desires of your heart. He does not necessarily give you your heart's desire.

As a new Christian I thought I knew what this phrase meant and took it at face value later I found out what it really meant.

This phrase that the OP posted was only one example, of Biden leaving many guessing. We are both certain what it expresses but like the lack of confirming Biden's illness you have no better sway at confirming the intent of the sentence.

Yeah, watched the video. Wow. Just wow.
This wasn't reminiscing about him and Obama.

He said "Like I told Barak..." That is comparative and this was in the context of his and Harris's relationship.

He didn't say Harris was going to get sick and quit. He was talking about himself faking illness to surrender to a political decision.

An astounding admission and even more astounding is the pass he gets.

I'd hope to see this as a sort of jest of some kind. I don't believe it was. He's setting the stage to exit.

While I can't say with any kind of authority that he has dementia, it is quite obvious that he is having issues.

Call them gaffes, or whatever. This isn't just me being biased here. Even the media and folk in his own party comment on this. And often.

I don’t believe it is quite so “lately”.  I my opinion, it has been going on for over a decade now.  It is said that “the first casualty of war is the truth” because both sides destroy it.  We are at war!.....in a way that has been allowing us to believe that we are not at war....and we have not declared it war.

Joe (our future president) Biden has been a gaffe machine for his entire career. Some might be because of his struggle with stuttering. But, a lot is just due to him and the way he talks. To be honest, I think he is better now at his age to subdue the tendency. Is he likely to not communicate expertly in the future ? I would say for sure.
Your suppositions would hold more weight were you not to ignore the most preposterous utterances these last 4 years.

... We are both certain what it expresses but like the lack of confirming Biden's illness you have no better sway at confirming the intent of the sentence.

Robert, once more let me try to address this.  This is frustrating for me.  You have a lot of trouble with the English language.

You keep trying to address that I don't know the intent of the sentence.  I never claimed that I know for certain the intent but did say I knew what was said.  I heard the words.  You said to me, "You have no better idea than me or anyone else at what was truly said by this man."  You did not refer to what the man meant but specifically what he said.

As to the Scripture you quoted, it means what it says.  Your heart's desire and the desire of your heart actually mean exactly the same thing.  What you did was drop off the first part of the sentence, "Take delight on the Lord and."  If the Lord is your delight your desires will not be selfish or sinful.  The sentence means exactly what it says but must be taken in its entirety.

Let's you and I disconnect.  Our attempts to converse logically only results in frustration.
